I wonder if Valve would be able to tell the difference between "give demo a glock" and "give pyro a lightning gun". Would they think both are memes? Both serious suggestions? The wrong way around?

k, so i was clearly wrong, i was just basing it off of my personal experience. but like i said before, it's a beginner class that any competent player can shit on completely. just make the DF more skill based. idk how pubbers can complain that this is overpowered

imo, i think pyro's dmg is a tricky one atm.
So this is all coming from a casual perspective. I get really agro when I get killed by a Pyro because 99% they just don't deserve (exactly how I feel when I played Overwatch and got killed by Winstons, hes not OP but getting killed by him is incredibly unsatisfying) but then I consider that, Pyro really does rely on the idea that he can't be spotted prior to him attacking because of his short range, a Pyro is worthless if spotted from a distance away as he can't close the distance (which I hoped they would of fixed with the jetpack, but the switch time for that is shit and you cant use it passively alongside a weapon) and so is gunned down by every other class.Really I think Pyro needs the high dmg he has now and instead just make his flamethrower a little less braindead (or lower his dmg and maybe make his jetpack not terrible) its no coincidence all of my friends who dont play tf2 swarm towards pyro and do considerably better at him than any other class

The flamethrower glitch is absolute bullshit. Literally everyone who has a nonzero amount of limbs can hit max flamethrower DPS, and you can obliterated behind corners from being tagged by a stray particle.
They need to fix this shit fast.

i think "pubbers" specifically may find it OP because of the sheer amount of Pyros around at the moment, the particle effect is really obnoxious and its genuinely hard to tell what is going on

I did the email valve thing and sent them that video asking if it was the intended effect. I suggest people bombard them with emails because it really needs fixed. A good thing to point out is that you are literally punished for trying to track/lead since being anything less than perfect is less effective than flailing.

The biggest issue I have is the flames make it really fucking hard to see the Pyro and actually aim at him

i think just simply scale down the particle hitboxes can fix the "no skill wm1" problem
inb4 the flamethrower has a slow firing rate (of particles) and slow traveling speed, so the huge particle size is ok

Speaking of airblast, I swear it feels even easier to reflect projectiles after this update.
It's honestly so autistic to fight pyros as a soldier without a shotgun now.
If you shoot them from anywhere other than like 5 ft away they reflect it easily
if you're within 5 ft there's like a 50% chance they just guess the timing and fuck you
if you try to bait out the airblast, you get launched like 10 feet and have to settle for a 65 dmg rocket
and 1/2 the time their cooldown is already over by the time you shoot them
oh yeah and you get melted within like 4 seconds by the flames and you can barely even see the pyro through them so

SentinelDoesn't matter as much in 6s but in general gameplay, pyro does WAAAAY too much damage with zero aim required

DF is pretty close to balanced because the airblast penalty makes it pretty difficult to protect yourself from damage and the DPS is actually comparable to other flamethrowers, but takes more effort to achieve because if you miss one shot you're already losing out on damage compared to them. The only true advantage compared to the other primaries is slightly bigger range.
Reduce hitbox size a little bit and I'd say the DF is just fine.
