Hey, everyone! As new Community Manager for CEVO, I figured a great way to help players find teams and to help teams find players would be to create a comprehensive list of everyone who's looking for a team, and then to list their relevant information.
Join the new CEVO Town Hall Steam Group where the "Discussions" tab features a thread for each class. If you're LFT, post in the appropriate thread with your alias, desired division, Steam Profile URL, your CEVO/ESEA profile link, and any LFT threads you have up on any forums!
The purpose of these meta-threads will be to provide leaders with an easy, comprehensive list of all players looking for teams including all their relevant information. Once you do find a team, just comment on the discussion again saying you're no longer looking! This way we can keep a continuously updated overview on all players looking for team and it'll be easier than sifting through pages of LFT threads when your team needs a player. Just click the Discussions tab on the navigation bar...

Isn't that the point of this forum? If CEVO happens then that's great and if it's actually good, then even better, but why splinter the community in other ways? I personally would much rather look for a team or for players using this forum over a steam group. Maybe it's just me, though.

Nothing can take the place of LFT threads it's a great place to elaborate on your experience, previous teams, and what you're looking for. Also provides the outlet for other people to flame/flatter you, etc.

But speaking from personal experience in this offseason, I had multiple leaders ask me about who was LFT and when I would suggest someone they'd say "oh really? i didn't know they were looking" mostly because their LFT thread was all the way back on page 6.

tf.tv and CEVO already have looking sections I don't understand the point of making another one and unless you can convince people otherwise I dont imagine people using this.

the group has not been up for a full day yet and there have already been 3 posts in the recruitment forum. this'll probably take some effort from me to get going (which I will start working on after I settle other things) but once it starts to fill out why wouldn't you use it?
i guess maybe the idea's not clear but it's not supposed to replace or copy LFT threads on forums, it's supposed to supplement that by creating an overview of everyone looking for team. as a leader, haven't you ever thought "damn i wish there was somewhere i could go to see every scout LFT right now" or as a player similarly, somewhere to see all teams LFP. this is supposed to be something to help facilitate recruiting so that teams and players waste less time and find each other faster.

yes - it would make more sense to aggregate the LFT/LFP's if you feel like organzing and managing it.
