The installer doesn't give you the option to use metal footsteps. So someone has to go out of their way to include it.
ftr i am almost certain that rgl could override or remove footstep noises if they wanted to, it would take a bit of effort with sourcemod and sigscanning but it could almost definitely be done.
sv_pure 2 still gives some issues with the flat textures. lod tweak does seem to improve certain weirdness on sunshine, but it does not help everywhere and I don't really see a common reason as to why some textures work great in sv_pure 2 and some textures have the weirdness. Does anyone know what specifically is causing this on some textures?

In pure servers, instead of using the custom 1x1 textures from cleantf2+, the game reverts back to using the original tf2 textures but keeps the 1x1 scaling of the custom ones for some reason, so it's basically the original texture scaled down and tiled a bunch of times.
It looks pretty flat for most textures, but if the original texture is less uniform or looks far different on one edge than another edge, it'll look weirder and not as smooth. There isn't really anything you can do about it. On sunshine specifically, some of the textures lack lower res mips so that could explain why they behave differently.

Unfortunate. I may manually remove some of the offending textures from the vpk and see if it looks stupid. Fingers crossed there's some other fun workaround somewhere, always been a huge fan of the flat textures.

wtf thanks, this would have saved some time earlier lol. turns out the only brickwall textures that need to be deleted are brickwall002d and brickwall002f, updated the link in my original post
Flat textures sometimes make this grate on steel not see-through anymore (A)
Weird thing is that it sometimes is see through but with a different texture. I do not have screenshot of this since I have not been able to replicate it anymore since removing LOD bias and installing master comfig.
To remove flat textures from this grate, remove metalgrate011a from the metal folder (there are technically multiple versions of this material but I didn't bother to check if you need to remove them or what they do). There are other weird things flat textures does but this seems to be the most impactful one.

than I think theres no other way to do that, flat textures somehow bypasses the whitelists and probably gets fucked up in the process (flat textures on sv_pure 0 works fine)
I don't think there's a proper fix besides just removing the textures that are broken. You can do that by use mat_crosshair and it'll tell you the texture name in console, and just delete the texture in the folder

generate.bat only opens when i run it as administrator but it still says its in the wrong directory even if its in the right directory
