Title says it, what do you guys want to see in a HUD?
Clear but, unobtrusive kill feed, a scoreboard that you can see though well and read quickly. For the health and ammo I enjoy large enough text so I can read it easily through peripheral vision.
Originality, but that it isn't too artsy that it gets in the way of the game.
My perfect HUD would be simple. I don't want all of this shit in my face when I'm trying to play. I want my health and ammo visible when I'm not necessarily looking at it, but I don't want them as my crosshair basically.
I want a scoreboard that is transparent so I can see what's going on behind it. I also want a simple scoreboard that only tells me the stats that I need to know and who's playing. Stats like kills, deaths, captures, ubers, maybe headshots, but not stats like bonus, teleports, defends, etc.
I also like damage numbers that appear above the person I shot's head area and don't disappear almost immediately.

Old KNHUD is probably the best example of how to do it right. Minimal, easily visible, nothing flashy.

A clean-cut one with all the original buttons of the default HUD, but with a contemporary design. A health cross with a good font(or ability to change it). A centered medic charge bar,(like the one in Rayshud) and a scoreboard that shows all the teammates and necessary

I was considering making a modified scoreboard for 6s that would only have stat info for kills deaths, captures, assists, ubers, headshots, bonus(meds killed with uber) and maybe doms/revs. Wouldn't be very hard to make and the normal 12v12 scoreboard would keep those stats if you did want to see them

ya but i don't really care about how many doms/revs i had in the game. that's what i mean by stats i don't want to see. doms, revenges, defends and whatnot.

I think players have such varied preferences when it comes to their HUD that the best you can do is to include as many different user-changeable variables as possible. Broesel HUD is a good example of this because, even though it isn't very pretty or flashy, most people can easily modify the colors, targetids, health cross, crosshairs, etc to their liking without much work. They can kind of make it "their own." Garm3n HUD takes a different approach but provides the same level of customization, which is why I think at the end of the day Broesel and Garm3n are so popular.

That is not a problem in the slightest, as long as you bound your weapon select keys to aliases that contain every possible weapon.

I like to see as little as possible, just the essentials. Less is more.

I like the TF2 minimal hud. Keep health and ammo in the corners. I want 80% of my screen to be clear of hud.

The whole point of keeping information close to your crosshair is to minimize the time it takes for you to look at your health and keep your focus on the middle of your screen.
