Completely wiping drive

Yo,

So I've been having some problems with my computer lately (mostly that I overwrote three different OS's on there without doing a clean install). I just got the Win8 reinstall disc from my manufacturer but I've been told to run DBAN, a program that entirely wipes the drive and makes ~sure~ that no Win 7 drivers/files can come back to haunt me. There's 1 problem: I don't have any clean discs to burn the .iso file to. So I have a question: Is there any other programs like DBAN that don't require an .iso file (pretty sure that's not possible) or, do I even need to use DBAN to ensure my drive is wiped?

What's wrong with just reformatting the drive?

Anyway there's no need to use a disc if you really do need something more, just make a bootable USB of whatever program you want to use. Just Google some instructions.

there's no real need to use dban unless you're selling the drive/sending it back to the manufacturer and you want to make sure there's no sensitive information that can possibly still remain on it. it's great for cleanly wiping a drive but it's overkill for what you need.

All right, thanks. If worst comes to worst and i'm still getting problems I guess I can just use dban off a USB then.

If you end up needing to you can mount the iso on a virtual drive and run it. Daemon tools lite is a program you can use, idk if there's better ones out there but that's what I've used.

All right, whoo. The main problem I was having was a generally slow computer and lots of ingame stuttering. After reinstalling Windows 8 it does seem a lot faster, but I'm waiting to install TF2 to test the stuttering in tf2.

You should be able to do a quick format with any windows installation disc.

although my drive was half cp the real reason was i installed three os's over each other and the files were causing big conflicts

besides i run over it with my car and then eat the bits that are left
