Am I wrong that the stvs are available to anyone until the final? So djc, cbear and Admirable could cast and we'd all be happy?

There's a number of casters (and players who might become free should they be knocked out) in attendance so I'm sure there will be a decent level of diversity, with a large number of the fan favorites casting live from our ministage at the event.

Combine this with a level of stream production TF2 has never seen before, and it should be a great weekend. There will still be problems, but I'm confident we are going to put on a show this community will be proud of.

Lastly you have to remember that VanillaTV is its own coverage organisation and has to be careful in selecting who represents us at our home event (most of us are based in the UK and this is the largest UK LAN). Our reputation is at stake with Multiplay and this is multiplied when we are performing on their grand final stage as more eyes are on us.

I'm not for one second suggesting that other people aren't capable of producing a quality show in our name and representing Multiplay perfectly and professionally, but don't be shocked when we say that it would be rare for our organisation to allow anyone other than 'full-time' members of its staff to commentate the grand final.

Regardless, i49 is going to be incredible for our community. We've worked incredibly hard all year in preparation for this event and that will continue right up until we've packed up our gear and left the venue. The VanillaTV crew, Lange, Sal, and the rest of us will blow the roof off the place this year... just you wait!

- (All personal views, doesn't represent VTV's official stance).

If the most impressive LAN ever assembled doesn't have the best casting because of pride or ego or whatever, that would be very disappointing. Arx and Beta are fine for the final, they aren't bad at all, but they also aren't the best. Cbear, djc and Admirable are the best.

Well, from all the feedback, and the response from VanillaTV, it seems like doing this won't probably work, VanillaTV is dying slowly, and I think that if they don't bring some of their OWN casters and don't bring their best ones, Multiplay will probably be upset.

We can dream and wish to have the best casters up there on the grand stage, but in the end of the day it's going to be VTVs choise.

I love Arx & Beta, but please, learn from your mistakes, see what people are saying here.

LangeCbear, DJC, and Admirable aren't even going to be there. They're not being pushed aside, they just literally aren't going to be there.

Yes but aren't the stvs available to everyone until the final? Who cares where the casters are? Like last year.

I have to assume that the huge crowd would have some slight objections to people on the other side of the world casting a tournament they paid to go to.

I'm pretty sure that all of VTV's casting was done on-site, and I don't see why it wouldn't be.

JackyLegsVanillaTV is dying slowly

Really?

VTV has more casters, more streamers and the biggest TF2 Lan to date. TFTVEU relies on VTV for STV relays and team comms on mumble. TFTV-eu has 1 reliable caster and borrows streamers from other orgs most of the time. If one of our casters goes on holiday, there are 5 others ready to jump in. If Pledge goes on holiday you can wave goodbye to your coverage.

So why dont you give VTV a break, everyone here is for the betterment of TF2 we dont want money or twitter followers (apart from Haydn he loves that shit). I think they deserve a little more respect for the work that they put into this community.

VTV have been very open to casters from other orgs coming in and casting at i49, they didn't have to be. But they know its what the community want, we offered it to pledge but I am guessing it wasn't enough for him. We have Sal and Lange helping out on site which is awesome. I would personally love Adz to come up and give us a cast or 2. At the end of the day VTV won the gig so they are fully within their rights to put their 2 caster choices up on the finals stage.

This may be a slighty bias post considering I am involved with VTV, but it just pisses me off when people spout off mindless shit about things they really know little about.

or maybe i just got trolled, what evs

You really think that quantity is better than quality? so what if you guys have 5 casters to jump in, you got Mia to jump in and cast?, then I would rather watch a STV of the game rather than the actual stream, it's the sad truth.

BoneSVTV has more casters, more streamers and the biggest TF2 Lan to date

You guys have so many more things than TF.TV, but why not more viewers? why do people choose to watch TF.TV instead?
The thing is, quality beats quantity, no matter how many streamers, how many casters you have, it will always depend on how good someone is.
"Biggest TF2 Lan to date", well who else casted a LAN before if not you folks?

I hope, with all my heart, that TF.TV will get a chance to host the next big Worldwide LAN, they deserve a chance.
I would never want VTV to stop streaming or casting, the more organisations to cast TF2, the bigger it will grow!

I salute everyone in VTV to keep doing a good job!

That is not what BoneS said. He suggests that TFTV.eu currently relies on only one regular caster and if that one caster is not around, there is no cast. He did not mention quantity or quality at all.

Yes but Jacky to have quality you actually have to have something to be of high quality.

I have always been of the understanding that TFTV has a huge american following hence the difference in viewing figures. Due their loyalty to TFTV.

Please don't misconstrue my ramblings as a bash on TFTV, I was just pointing out the obvious holes in people's hate statements against VTV. It fuels the fire of a beef between the 2 orgs which in my mind doesn't even exist.

When I watch a game and both orgs are casting it, I will happily have both open to support the TF2 scene. Plus I have huge respect for Pledge's casting ability, the guy is smooth as fuck. I just think sometimes his ego gets in the way of actually helping TF2 :P sorry Pledge I still wish you were coming to i49 mate.

And all this needless hatred towards Mia confuses me. She is knew to casting, do you think people are born with the confidence to cast perfectly right off the bat. No it takes practice and knowledge these things come with time.

JackyLegsI would never want VTV to stop streaming or casting, the more organisations to cast TF2, the bigger it will grow!

Well at least we agree on something right :)

JackyLegsYou guys have so many more things than TF.TV, but why not more viewers? why do people choose to watch TF.TV instead?

They have the American audience that would watch the TF.TV they're familiar with than watch VanillaTV. Also because of a front page auto playing twitch stream that can get them to 300 viewers in a matter of seconds due to the traffic this site gets then people who wouldn't otherwise care pick the stream that has the most viewers

I'm sure you've not watched one of our streams then, as we have a high quality stream. Yes, our casters may not be to everyones taste (heck, Im used to the Skully bashing, Ive had it since day one), however you cannot deny that what we have to bring to the table is high quality, with live stats, split screen and team coms

BoneSVTV has more casters, more streamers and the biggest TF2 Lan to dateYou guys have so many more things than TF.TV, but why not more viewers? why do people choose to watch TF.TV instead?

Ge, I dont know, thats like asking someone why the heck they would watch a CBS broadcast of NFL when Phill Sims is on the mics when you could listen to the local radio station call the game. Its personal choice, people dont like VTV because of certain people. On the other side I usually feel that TFTV's numbers are slightly slanted because their stream is on autoplay when live on the front page of this site

Also, I just want to say, it may sound selfish, but without the support of TwitchTV John last year, giving us Front page for big games, I highly doubt TF2 would be where it is now: still popular, gaining frequent 2K viewers on a cast was a huge help to promoting TF2 to the masses

The thing is, quality beats quantity, no matter how many streamers, how many casters you have, it will always depend on how good someone is.

refer to last 2 comments, personal choice, we have quallity 60FPS streams, etc etc

If you mean the Insomnia LANs then you have to look at the past orgs before VTV was formed, but we earned the trust and respect of Multiplay hence why we were asked

I hope, with all my heart, that TF.TV will get a chance to host the next big Worldwide LAN, they deserve a chance.

Competition is always good, I like it, TFTV.NA will get a lot of chances, TFTV.Eu on the otherhand.....

It may sound a little biased because I cast for VTV, but this is my own opinions. Like I said, I enjoy competition, but bashing is just stupid, if anyone feels I have bashed any org here, I do not intend to, TFTV earned their viewers liek VTv earned theirs, why cant we all just be friends

I have actually, and alot of them, I always open 2 tabs of the casters in TF2, I mute one of them, but I still leave them both open.
I sometimes watch the Team-Comms Stream, which is something I really enjoy and that is something that VTV is doing well and should keep doing.
