It was a lot of fun this past March. Will probably be a lot of fun this upcoming year too.

I'd love to attend again... Could definitely be a possibility, but eXtv might splash out on some new gear soon, so I'm not sure how much resources I have. Tickets to montreal are eXpensive :/
Last year's situation with the organizers was very disspaointing. The community's organization two years ago was better in some ways. If we organized again then we could establish timeframes/plans that work for us... like a group dinner break at three brothers brewpub, or whatever that place was called.

should do $40 buy in per player, if we have enough for 5 teams like last year elect 5 captains and do draft mode so we dont have an obvious top 2 finishers and then split the pot 800/400 or 700/300/200 or somethin

Last year failed because about 100 people voted for the tourney to be in and about 30 people showed up which lead the organization to remove the entire prize pool and stuff.
It could work if you guys want to organize it but don't expect much support from the team this year.

yeah, draft mode would be pretty awesome. I'd cast the shit outta that draft. Maybe do it on Saturday, so we can do scrambles on Sunday and people can see where everyone is at?

Update : There is no vote for a Team Fortress 2 Tournement in the offical line up of games from ETS.
I guess we will need to host one by ourselves.
Having at least 6 drafted teams would be the minimum.
Pretty sure its the consequence of us voting massivly for TF2 last year, then having 25% of the people who voted show up.

Provided no mishaps happen in my plans to attend, I'll be looking to host local DM servers and match servers.

For anyone planning to fly out to Montreal, depending on where you are, look into Allegiant (http://www2.allegiantair.com) who now have a connection to Plattsburgh. Taking the greyhound from there to Montreal is maybe 2-3 hours and only 20$. Another possibility is checking flights going into Burlington (BTV) and taking the greyhound up here. Often times the combination of these flights + greyhound will be cheaper than straight to Montreal.
