And just like the Roman Republic, once it demonstrated that it could no longer govern, was usurped by Caesar, we should all hope for the day when the fat cock himself ascends to the mighty twitch throne.
Niko_JimsNew streaming site when?
the one person being shitty causing every kid to blacklist companies is getting old
what is likely to happen is twitch distances itself from the issue. silently unbans everyone and evaluates whether to drop the furry dude at a later time. if you give in to riots then you get this shit every time people want something cause they think it causes shit to happen.
its natural for a company to back an employee over what people on the outside consider as over the line. he's someones friend... and john is tftv's friend so stop with the backlash warcries ya goddam noname cocksucker : -- )

Not going to lie but i am really surprised this is the first real shitstorm on twitch, with how many people stream and how many more watch those streams per day its kinda amazing that nothing has happened sooner and more often

And perhaps, partially explains the response. They haven't had a crisis before so they're running off of instinct trying to put the fire out, but they grabbed the cooking oil instead of the water bucket. The result? Kentucky Fried Controversy.

Love the comparison you made Kinch.

"Twitch.tv speedrunners banned by admin abusing power" is now the number one thread on reddit and the first thread on r/all for default users. Today Twitch learns what the Streisand Effect is.
In other news: It has come out that Horror is, in fact, the only admin of Twitch that is an actual, paid Twitch employee, and everyone else is just a volunteer. The bad news: Good luck getting him removed. The "good" news: if he is removed, he'll suffer financially.

Rather sure he is paid because he handles all emotes, most admins just moderate chats.

Horror is head admin in that he oversee's all other admins, as well as the emotes. He is definitely a member of staff, the fact he wears an admin badge instead of a staff badge is likely just choice.
i cant think of a better word to use than retarded if you guys honestly think that one furry admin going haywire with bans merits switching back to a company that literally scammed destiny/tobiwan and a ton of others out of more than 100,000 dollars
Turn on ad-block on twitch if you won't stop using the service. Should dent their income.
How in the actual fuck did these admins think this would lead to a good outcome for them...

People keep saying this but last I heard the guy who runs Hitbox.tv was brought in as CFO of own3d after own3d fucked themselves, he was hired to try and fix things but it was too far gone. Can we get some proof on either side?

I find it odd the reddit admins/mods get really bent out of shape when companies use multiple alt accounts in order to simulate organic feedback, opinions, or upvotes, yet they oblige to twitch's request of censorship.

I find it really sinister that Twitch have asked for the threads to be removed from Reddit. It can't be easy for Twitch_Jon as he can't just remove a large number of his modding staff. Yes a lot of people would apply to replace them but it would be very time consuming for him to vet them all and if it is true that this Horror character is indeed the only paid admin then removing the person who would logically conduct the recruitment is even more of a ball ache. Also, he seems like the type of idiot who would try and drag the name of twitch through the mud saying he was sacked because he was gay blah blah.
The silence from the higher ups at Twitch needs to be broken soon because if enough people jump ship to the hitbox platform then the money will go down. It's the streamers who have the power in this situation and by the looks of it the speedrun community is large, vocal and pissed off. It would only take a few leaders/celebs in the community to do a Moses and lead everyone off. Or at least, that is my opinion.

Hitbox.tv is still shady (even if it the CTO argument is thrown around, it doesn't make it any more trustworthy because it's still new and he couldn't fix the shit situation before). Jwong made a post on that reddit thread about what's currently happening (doing unbans, as it seems most people have gotten unbanned) and TwitchTVSupport twitter is finally saying they are doing something about this. Whether or not something does happen is a different matter.
Either way, today is going to be a fun day. There's definitely going to be a juicy announcement later. Twitch gets it's first real negative PR test.

I highly doubt anybody would even listen to him at this point.

Get on this, it has to be the best way to do things for now. I could see LoL players migrating being a huge boost to Hitbox, but I don't think it's likely to happen anytime soon because of the probable loss in revenue for them. Best (viable) way to go seems to be to get popular unpaid streamers to move over until Hitbox becomes a more established platform.

In my opinion, a good business would have higher ups take matters into their own hands and not let a situation like this get out of control. I may have just missed something, but without a statement from a higher up it feels like twitch just wants to sweep this under the rug and ignore the issue.
Edit: Ok, 2 minutes after I posted Twitch Apology

That's actually a legit apology, I'm satisfied once they unban me.
Interesting how posts critical of the moderators/enigma are dealt with so swiftly compared to the dozen or so walls of anti-semitic garbage blinky posted yesterday.
ya blink definitely isnt banned or anything after what he said yesterday

After like an hour or two of posting. Yet posting remove enigma gets deleted instantly. Keyword in my post would have been swiftly.
