My game crashes on start after the initial loading screen.
I have tried:
-validating game cache
-reinstall steam
-reboot
-update drivers
-rollback drivers
The one thing that worked was reinstalling tf2, but I cant do that every time i want to play.
It also did this for other games such as mirrors edge and dota.
Thanks for the help

Do you by any chance have an overclock running on you gpu? This can causes some games like tf2 to crash on start up.
Other than that i would try running games in compatibility mode for a different version of windows.
Not much else i can suggest with the limited info you have given :/

delete/move your custom folder out and see if that is the problem

Just reinstall your HUD (delete it, go to recycle bin and restore it; if that doesn't work, then get a fresh installation of that HUD, but you shouldn't really need to resort to this)

Mine does this when i run in dx9 for some reason, a while back i just changed to dx8 and now it runs fine.

I have deleted my custom folder, aswell as running -autoconfig in the lauch options, but neither made it work.
