i think hes talking about his medibeam particles which look different than what they normally do. i'm guessing he's using a custom particles file?

If you want your medi beam itself like that download the latest maxframes from Chris configs

yeah, if you want viewmodels on for melee or want needles to show up, then you need to put viewmodel_fov back to what you normally want it for those slots in a crosshair switcher

a while back there was a bug where the medibeam itself was invisible (might still be around cuz valve but it was supposed to have been fixed) but the heal particles still remained. i think this is that bug as, if i remember correctly, harbleu said his beam had always been like that and he preferred it that way. with viewmodel_fov 0 you don't get the particles in the air, just on the person you're healing.

that was broken by some update iirc

But you could just use viewmodel_fov 20 with r_drawviewmodel 0 for your medigun slot, it's the best thing ever

Yeah I know that one but I'd like it the harb way :(. Is there virtually no possibility to do it now?

you should try with a fov of 25/20 clear view of everything plus seeing a beam as well

I assume because people are -fragging me and +fragging harb it works for them, so is there some command I might have that could be fucking it up?

r_drawviewmodel 0 with viewmodel_fov 1 looks like this for me

http://i.imgur.com/kjlaI3u.png

It's the closest i've gotten to make it look like the old medigun with the disappearing/weak trail. I've used viewmodel_fov 0 since always so i've tried a lot of things to make it work again but nothing worked. Or maybe it doesnt work because i play with low gfx? idk

harb said it worked the same for him (still no beam i guess?), not that it looks the same :p

try 360, -360 and increments (they do, kind of, make a difference)

You can't do it after the update that added the r_drawtracers_firstperson command

harbleui use r_drawviewmodel 0 with viewmodel_fov 1 ever since they broke it. works the same way for me as it used to

so does it only work when using some type of dxlevel or fps config then?
