What's a good way to calculate mouse dpi?

I've got a Zowie Ec2 evo and I have heard that the dpi is not what it says it is, so I would like to know how to calculate it to have the same sensitivity as before.

quoting someone from overclock.net:

It'll vary depending on the mouse surface you're using and the thickness of the mouse skates. I also discovered that the dpi can change when dust accumulates on the lens of the sensor.

as far as i know, you can't really calculate it.
there are only estimates.

quoting someone from overclock.net:

My EC1 eVo CL has real dpi steps of 445, 1100 and 2215

i assume that the EC1 and EC2 are exactly the same in this regard (lod).

measure the distance it takes to do a 360 with your old mouse

change your settings so that it takes the same distance to do a 360 with your new mouse

Looking at how almost impossible it is to have exactly the same sensitivity I don't think it's it even worth it since I have already gotten used to the new mouse but thanks for your input anyway
