Mr_OwlIf I'm being perfectly honest, if esea drops tf2, I think most NA players would just move on to CS or Dota2 or wait for Overwatch. Most of the people I hang out with just sorta play because it's what we know.
What? Dont they play because they have FUN?? Is esea the fun police? After they drop it the fun is over?
Sorry we didnt get the memo here in europe.
This seems a rather pessimist or even ridiculous way of seeing things. The community will eventually find a way when that happens, tf2 wont die overnight.

I'm just speaking about the people I know and play with, but most of us have more fun playing other games at this point and only play esea tf2 because it's what we've done for years. Obviously this isnt the case for everyone and if esea dropped tf2 some sort of NA league would spring up. A sizable portion of the community would probably leave, however. The magic has worn off of this game for a lot of people. It's still fun, but it's not fun enough to spend 3 hours a night a few times a week playing it.

I gotta agree with Tim here. If you're looking for a rational response from someone who really isn't afraid to be abrasive, then you should definitely not make a thread called "lpkane blatantly lying."
That was certainly one of the worst ways to handle it.

SideshowI think there's a big difference between the NA scene and the EU scene in terms of outlook, but kaneco's right imo. You're perhaps a bit biased as a top player who has personally benefited from the LAN and prizepool, but for the majority of your scene that doesn't even come into it. They just pay ESEA to play vs better people and be in a serious league.
The problem with any big change is that the best players dominate the culture, they're mostly players who have been playing a long time, so they're used to it. If ESEA went a lot would probably cut the cord and move on rather than go through the grind of getting used to something new. That would set the scene back quite a bit in the short term at least. You'd really need an alternative that offers a very similar experience to just transplant so many players with minimal disruption.
Cevo showed that a similar alternative will at least be tried, but it also shows that there is difficulty sustaining two pay to play leagues in what is a relatively small scene.

Authenticity man would surely help you owl. http://existentialcomics.com/comic/46
I don't play because I find it impossible to come into contact with 5 other people who also play tf2 and not have at least one make me wish I were dead, having an ice cold coke, or doing almost anything else. If that could be amended I'd gladly play every night simply because I'm a competitive person who has nothing better to do - and I'm too old to try to play basketball or something again.

I don't want to be honest with myself, Marxist. I'm afraid that if I am, I'll need to find a new hobby, and change is scary.
There are times where I absolutely love tf2. Hell, last night was one of them. The grind is just so much sometimes.
As I'm typing this I'm realizing you can just respond by posting the exact same comic again. Don't make me face the music.

Thats the thing about cs though. Its not some game that u can play for like 2 years and be one of the best in the game. Cs is dedication homie.

Implying tf2 skill ceiling (and even skill floor) isn't much higher.
The only thing about cs is that it has like 10x more players than tf2 and some of them have played for 10+ years on the various iterations of the game, and their comp playerpool is much bigger. tf2 as a game has so much more nuances and mechanics to it that at the really high levels it's as exciting and crazy skilled as cs, or even more.

Lol I play both games and both of them are hard in their own ways having the mentality that one is harder than the other is stupid to me. I just found it funny that people who only play csgo are worse than people who just picked up csgo and are from tf2 and claim they can be gods at our game when we already have people stomping csgo. Go thoriin I'm rooting for you.
Edit: all games require practice to be good at. Shocking right?

Is Kaneco saying that the skill floor of tf2 is higher than that of cs
I thought you were just kind of dumb but this crosses the line into all out trolling

I really don't like the argument that a certain multiplayer game is "easier" than another based on an assessment of the gameplay alone. There are an impossibly huge number of nuances to master, mechanics to perfect, and playstyles to develop in any game. A game that's "easier" in one aspect simply gives more opportunity to flesh out other aspects.
True difficulty can only be assessed by the intensity of competition, and in a game as popular and incentivized as csgo, it shouldn't be surprising that most people hold the viewpoint that it's the harder game.

The only sound argument was that CSGO certainly involves more strategy as there are 1000 factors to take in account at all times, while in TF2 for example, you could basically win off backcaps only (I would know).
Regardless, the better game is the one that's more fun for you.

WOULD YOU ALFA?
On a serious note, who the fuck thinks it's a good idea to make a thread titled "lpkane blatantly lies" and expect a positive result to come from it? Clearly he didn't consider TF2 because it's an afterthought considering it makes no money for them so what were you hoping to accomplish? madmen seriously way too impressive.

? No
I have 270 hours in CS and my mm rank and rws is similar to those with 1-3k hours in the game. Some people are just naturally garbage at video games or don't mentally know how to improve.
Also, most invites have 3-6k hours in CS, with like maybe 1 or 2 of 1.6 and/or source. That's pretty similar to hours of invites in tf2.

Also I don't get the point of this besides bragging. Are you in a high ESEA division or are you comparing yourself to random csgo players?
