mumble overlay not working with windows 8?

I recently switched to a desktop running windows 8 and now the mumble overlay is not working at all. My tf directory is the exact same as it has always been, my mumble overlay is the exact same thing I've always been running but it refuses to work, even with the -nod3d9ex command.

Anyone have any ideas?

The current stable version of mumble doesn't support windows 8. You have to use the beta 1.2.4 build for it to work.

Did that work for you? Even with the beta and -nod3d9ex it still doesn't show up for me.

EDIT: I take it back. I just had to make sure mumble was started before steam.

I just got it to work - I have the newest mumble beta installed, -nod3d9ex in Launch options (not sure if this matters but it's working so I don't wanna break it lol), and I had to fully exit steam, start mumble, then start steam and then start tf2.

If you want to use the overlay on 1.2.3 stable, backup mumble_ol.dll from the 1.2.4 install, install 1.2.3 over it, and then put the backed up mumble_ol.dll into the Mumble folder
