We got some SICK nasty tf2 player named banny who has some sort of inability to connect with other human beings so he focuses on himself to make him less lonely. cool, cool i can dig it thats w/e. the problem is here you see? he actually acts like a piece of shit. anyone who has actually met another human being can tell this INSTANTLY and i dont even need to explain it or show evidence because its so FUCKING obvious. shouldnt even be part of the discussion u know? k so we got a sick tf2 player who is socially p fked up and does not understand the concept of other people and reality, he also is a piece of shit like mentioned before just so we are all clear here. I was watching live this morning when all this happened. Here are my 2 cents.

First off why do people who dislike b4nny watch his stream? To me that does not make sense. I mean how empty is your life that you have nothing better to do than spend hours watching and listening to someone you do not like? I am sorry for you people who do that. Maybe mommy should have hugged you more.

Secondly, how sad are ALL of us that we have nothing better to talk about than a drunk and an attention whore slap fighting with keyboards. (and before you people jump on me calling me a hypocrite, I said ALL of us) The worst part is if b4nny would have just instantly blocked the trolls from the start then people would be trash talking saying he is censoring his stream chat. By not blocking it ruined the stream, it was a lose lose situation for US, the viewers.

You can say that b4nny should have been the bigger person and ignored it but be honest, put a drink or 2 in YOU and then deal with someone shit talking you. I personally would react, I would not be able to ignore and walk away. Do not get me wrong, that would be ideal however, I think it is harder to do than you guys are admitting. Some people hate b4nny, some people love him.

For me personally, I think he has done so much for competitive and TF2 in general that mistakes can be forgiven. Finally this war of NA vs EU is ridiculous. Who cares what country you are from? Shut up and play the game, let your skills do the talking not your "gangsta keyboard".

I'm really confused reading this thread. Seems like a lot of people just come out of the woodwork to shit talk and make b4nny feel bad but the thing that is really confusing is people are actually surprised/shocked at his behaviour.

I don't watch his streams as you know, I don't like them or the way he acts on stream but why is suddenly having an ego, potentially lacking humility in having one a bad thing? It's pretty natural for competitive people in general and at least b4nny's is sort of justified considering his LAN wins compared to some open player thinking he's the dogs bollocks because he can airshot a dude 20 times.

And people complaining about shit talking eu? EU shit talks NA a lot, just not really publicly. I assume it's the same over there because everyone feels the need to pick a side and be like MY OPINION IS BEST.

The guy is a complete cunt to people in the public eye all the time. He is not joking, he is just a cunt. There's a big difference between what people see b4nny do on a day to day basis and people making a few shit talking forum posts. He's also in a much more influential position as many have said in this thread already.

Because he is such a figurehead of the tf2 community, someone looking to get into competitive tf2 could see his stream and see him being a total asshole. Therefore, they will not want to play competitive. thus him being an asshole is bad for the competitive community in general, so that's why everyone is 'crying' about it

Not at all. I am a very emotionally stable person. That being said, TF2 is my main competitive outlet so your perception is very skewed. Yes, I like to win in TF2 and I will try to win in a competitive setting whether its a pug, scrim or match. Outside of that, I am a very easy going person. I met you at GXL and I can almost guarantee that I did nothing to offend you. Spare me from your projections and diagnoses.

I'd love to see the TF2 twitch community grow. I think everyone who enjoys TF2 or Twitch should give streaming a shot. The more people playing, streaming, and watching TF2 the better. This is something I learned last year at TwitchCon from listening to panels of some famous Minecraft streamers and content creators. Their game blew up on twitch just by reaching out to the average player and making them aware of the streaming community. As far as hosting, it is definitely a powerful tool, but one I have been very careful using. I have been grateful for some large hosts by big streams like Star or Mang0, so I know just how helpful it can be. Lately I have actually been coordinating hosts with shade and it could potentially lead to more hosts for others in the future.

I am one of the few top level players who streams often and thus I am constantly under the microscope. Anything said can be taken out of context and turned into an 8+ page thread. I've accepted this and I don't let it stop me from putting myself out there. Generally I will keep things pretty focused on TF2, so the most salacious thing I tend to say is something along the lines of "you are not very good at TF2." To the TFTV community, this apparently crosses every line. However at the same time you have other top invite and prem players that habitually spout bigotry, sometimes even on stream, and they are still embraced by the community. The real difference is that most top level players are extremely secretive and entrenched in their cliques and circlejerks so you never actually see their true colors. I don't know if you remember the MedRed/Ash/Showstopper drama from last year, but all of that erupted because someone finally got a peek at what was really going on in the cesspool that is the 20b/ronin circlejerk. I am more of a loner, and I don't waste my time seeking reinforcement from my closest mates behind closed doors. I am much more open to talking to new people and sharing my honest opinions and thoughts. That's why I stream and will answer any question from curious people. You should all come by some time.
