from my personal experience and pov from streams:
I admit I used to not trust rkt but he seems to be picked over other medics, better medic and player than I ever was, better attitude, non toxic, etc. However, rkt started to play pugchamp when I was at the border of quitting tf2, he didnt know most of the people out there, and he mostly added up to play with b4nny, I agree with brimstone and the others, when I started playing with him, he would not listen to anyone who wasnt popular enough. Recently, he constalty brings up the players with bad reputation (ehem, like me or others) into conversations where the topic is irrelevant.

^ also this is the attitude I see on him everytime I watch b4nny or anyone else streaming pugchamp.
Here's my own opinion:
he can be a really good player, not only medic, but good at everything, but I feel like he tries really really hard to fit with the "older" players (because let's admit it he's a really young lad). Not saying that's a bad thing but that kind of stuff makes others pick on you easily (like that one clip where he says "I killed eveyrone and then I taunted ecks dee" and they just mock him) and is not the first time he says this kind of stuff that makes others laugh at him.
second thing: he has to know that there's a BIG difference between pugging and being on a real team. I dont wanna say names but one of the reasons why crypt and I got beef between each other its because we kept looking for players to join our team, and in total we tried out (not at the same time) 3 so called "puglords" who turned out to perform waaaaay worse than me (taking over calls, baiting, low dpm with -50 ping, etc) which lead to team Punchline to disband. Honestly he can get a really cocky with players who dont have a high profile.
I do believe in him and that he can destroy in open, but there are a lot of things he can fix and to start having the mindset of an actual team playaer rather than a "puglord". Yeah I remember that I was a horrible player bla bla bla I know.
edit: forgot to remember, this was even streamed:
I Was in a mumble channel (pugchamp mumble) with somoene and saying how hard rkt tries to fit in with the rest and even has thought himself as an invite player at least once (again, from my own exp) for winning "invite pugs". he suddenly joined and overheard the conversation. Right after he joins a channel and tells everyone that I said "I HATE ROCKET HES BAD YADA YADA" in the middle of a stream and says I'm a super toxic player (that was before I quit and started being an idiot posting dumb things). Yet again, right now he's aliased as "PUGLORD" and I hear him constantly talking on b4nny's stream if he could be invite level. I already said, better attitude than me? yeah. But that doesnt mean he doesnt have things to work on. As previous comments said before, being a "puglord" or being picked constantly on "invite level pugs" is not the best thing to be proud of, mentioning again how Punchline and other open teams tried out "puglords" and failed misserably to surpass mid open players. Yes he has potential, can climb up faster than others, but he still has A LOT to learn
Rktman_Looking to play Medic in a High Open or Low to Mid IM team for S26 (if the division exists).
I don't have actual competitive experience but over 1,000+ pugs on PugChamp.
Again I dont know how is the current state of competitive tf2, but for 0 season and only pugs wont qualify you as an IM player (I know I Called myself an IM player in the past and was shit, but that's another story). Our "high IM" tryouts struggled against mid open teams and we wanted to have an IM roster. There's a quote that a certain player said that drezzo and crypt mock a lot: "I've been playing pugs for 4 months I'm pretty much invite".

rkt isn't as bad as people say he is. plus, he is improving quickly. i don't know much about his personality, but from pugs, i wouldn't take it as much of a problem. i mean, if you're in open or intermediate you might as well try him out, super dedicated

okay I'm gonna be honest, since my last post in this lft which was only 3 days ago I kept watching streams and whenever rkt is featured he seems to be more and more EGOTISTICAL.
YES HE'S OKAY DECENT I GUESS and he is really friendly, but goddamn he gets scolded so much and then after says he would be invite in 1 season, and to be completely honest, that picture that n3 posted (your PUGLORD profile pic) MADE ME CRINGE, and the fact thay your name still has been THE PUGLORD for several days despite being nagged at least when I watch a pugchamp stream really says something. I got called an egotistical retard because I thought I was IM materail and was pretty bad but imagine if I changed my name to "dude I'm an IM player lord" after people were shit talking me.
Yes pick him up, worth trying out, I mean has like 10k hours? for sure he's hella dedicated, he doesnt play that bad as others say, he could make it to a very decent playoffs open team without any problem but damn you should also change a couple of things rkt just giving you an advice bro.
Just saying this: dont be that one player who thinks they know absolutely everything because they are "puglords". You tried to "correct" once (not sure if more because I have not seen more than that one) an actual high invite player to excuse your playstyle. Pointing out again how our "high IM puglords" players got outfragged by our medic drezzo in one match that made him quit esea.
you probably think this is too subtle to be an advice but I just want to be honest with you, you have a good personality and are a very nice and humble guy, but there are things you gotta change, because people wont take you seriously in the future.
"But Psi you are just jealous because you never got picked cuz u were shit" I already admitted a million times, I just want him to change for his own sake, people on b4nny stream keep posting things like "this rkt guy is so cocky", so I dont think I'm the only one. Peace and glhf
edit: you guys should not sugarcoat him THAT much or else he wont change his mentality, there's a difference between encouraging and sugarcoating.

Rkt would be a great player if he didn't have to be spoon fed what to do and how to play constantly. You see him excel in b4nny pugs because b4nny micros the heck out of everyone. Pay attention when b4nny doesnt say thing. You'll find him not being able to track ubers, not knowing where to go or what to do, and healing the wrong people at the wrong time. In essence, Rkt is a player who has everything done for him, because players at the top level are willing to spoon feed him information on what to do and where to go. Yeah that may be all great in those pugs, because who doesn't love a medic who will do everything you tell them too. At the same time however, most real teams are not going to micro the shit out of their medic. They are gonna expect that you know what you are doing and can pull your own weight.
There is no doubt Rkt is dedicated. However this whole "rkt is the most dedicated, just look at his hours." seems like complete bs to me. Plenty of people in this community spend all the time they can spare on this game, even sacrificing time with their friends and family to improve. Rkt just happens to be a child with time on his hands. That doesn't make him any more dedicated than the guy who works 10 hours a day and stays up all night scrimming, demo reviewing, and mge-ing only to go work another 10 hour shift the next day while sleep deprived. How many times has rkt demo-reviewed his own pov? How many hours has he spent grinding jump maps and mge? How many Vods of better players has he watched? Tons of people do stuff they hate in order to get better. How many hours has Rkt done of any of that? Has he ever played 3 extra pugs even when he felt tired or sick just because he wanted to improve?
TLDR: Rkt cant make most decisions for himself, he does well in pugs where he is micro'd. Dedication isn't defined by hours in game or pugs played. Its defined by how much someone sacrificed to improve. Did rkt really sacrifice that much more than others?

I think it's safe to say he's played more than enough (certainly more than 3) extra pugs just because he wanted to improve... That said, once you reach a certain point the amount you can improve just by playing pugs (at least on medic) becomes insignificant and you see diminishing returns (probably around the point where you have nearly thousand pugs without having played on a team ever)

He doesn't even do this, I can't count the number of times he's been told to pop but doesn't or just blatantly disregards what people tell him to do. It might seem savage but banny's kinda right when he says rkt doesn't know how to play medic. Don't get me wrong, he has potential and mechanics, but especially in high level invite pugs he often seems like he's lost and either doesn't know what to do or chokes under pressure (as mustard and others have alluded to, every once in a while he does absolutely terrible, probably doesnt help that he plays so much).

also this is almost entirely unrelated but i actually cannot fathom how he still thinks he can take sub spots on fragging classes replacing people way better than him, like when will you learn mr rktman, sometimes you're not meant to play scout in a pug full of im/invite players....

last night i subbed him for like the 4th time for taking a scout spot in a pug he didnt belong in, and he somehow convinced jarrett not only to let him play on his alt but also got me crestricted for a day for instasubbing him, even tho ive warned him multiple times in mumble and in chat that im going to do that every time without fail -______________-
secondly, why is he allowed to have a pugchamp alt literally called "rktKING_ALT" when others get banned for having alt accounts??? pretty sure there's a rule against alting, and shouldn't he have learned his lesson by now? p sure he's been banned 2 or 3 times for trying to ban evade with an alt
i know this will never happen because he's literally addicted to playing medic in aids pugs (to the point where he can't go 24hrs of pug withdrawal without alting to get his fix...), but i honestly think he needs to take a break and come back with a fresh approach to the game instead of mindlessly grinding pugs every waking hour of the day

bearodactylwhy is he allowed to have a pugchamp alt literally called "rktKING_ALT"
someone legit told him yesterday when I was watching sandblast (or percy, I dont remember) streaming
to stop adding up with his alt after being scolded and subbed and just to take a lesson from it, but I'm pretty sure he completely disregarded that comment
Apparently that got him banned

you get micro'd all the time by IM players. you just only choose to listen when its invite players. i dont know how many times ive told you to do something and you've either said "no" or just ignored it entirely.
