It's been over a year since the creation of global whitelist, isn't it about time for another meeting similar to the one that took place for it's creation to happen again? A lot of updates and change have happened to a lot of the currently banned weapons, and I think getting a consensus review about possible unbannings would be a good idea.
last one was on december http://www.teamfortress.tv/45353/december-global-whitelist-changes
you can read that if you haven't

none of the currently banned weapons have any remote reason to be unbanned besides potentially the dragon's fury if the new hitbox is tested and found to be acceptable; even that i doubt considering the stupid firing speed after hitting two shots.

What about the atomizer?
And maybe the Sydney Sleeper could be tested.

Not to mention the cowmangler, I know some people really despise it, but its really not that op.The reserve shooter could probably be unbanned, its nowhere close to op for soldier.

anything that makes scout better is objectively overpowered

just because something isnt "that bad" does not mean it should be unbanned. the entire point of a whitelist is to only allow the weapons that make 6s better. by your own admission, these weapons make 6s worse but not "that much worse."
also, just because we are trying to court valve doesnt mean we have to allow every weapon. esl banned the negev and it was perfectly okay to do.

The negev is a bad example, the negev was banned because valve was trying to get players to actually use so that they could if the changes were good, and that didn't fit with the goal of the csgo comp scence. We are looking at weapons that have yet to have real testing, the test cup from January was far from a complete and total review. The people participating were more likely interested in the prize pool than improving the whitelist, and why would the risk trying to weapons they weren't used to instead of the meta they've been using for thousands of hours?

Just because something doesn't "make 6s better" does not mean it should be banned. The entire point of a whitelist is to only disallow items that are game breaking. By your own admission, leagues in other esports resort to banning items only in the most extreme circumstances and only when the game is entirely disrupted, a very rare situation where banning them becomes "perfectly okay."
And no one is arguing to allow every item at this time. That should absolutely be the end goal, but only once the process of testing leads to productive item balancing. But once item balancing happens, those items should be given a fair chance. A new more relaxed whitelist that reflects the rebalances Valve have made is absolutely called for at this time.

i honestly do not see a reason why we need any unlocks besides basher, gunboats, escape plan, pain train, and medic items
Winger should be banned. Everyone crying about how broken the class is but allow an item that lets scout easily be on the high ground at all times???
deguatomizer, sydney sleeper, pretty boy's pocket pistol, mantreads, dragon's fury,
in no world should scout ever have triple jump for any reason
jarate shouldn't be in the game (esp not with mini crit headshots now)
scout should not be able to self heal ever
mantreads are still glitched afaik
idk what dragons fury is so no comment

No idea why we are arguing about shit like atomizer or dragons fury when the fucking crossbow is still legal.
ban that shit please?

Many of those items, have upsides, yes. But you refuse to acknowledge the tradeoffs associated with them. Use of tradeoffs is one of the best balancing approaches in TF2. Though one aspect of an item may be strong, if the downsides are equally strong the item essentially comes out with a net neutral, or at least becomes extremely risky to use as opposed to other well rounded options (stock). While some of those items may be annoying, even feeling slightly overpowered in some situations, they are not game breaking enough to warrant a ban, thanks to their inherent tradeoffs.

I have created the ideal whitelist that removes pretty much everything retarded from the 6v6 gamemode.

it has the same effect as winger but it takes longer to deploy and you can't fight while doing it
68 damage on headshot, if you'd hit the headshot for 150 instead the target is more likely to die
it was allowed when it wasn't up to +3 hp/hit but +5 hp/hit (yes, now it fires faster)
thought that was fixed, my b
it reduces the only thing pyro is useful for, which is airblast
this said, i very much enjoy playing without all the annoying unlocks and offclasses, been organizing inhouse pugs with essential unlocks and 6s classes only
when you're playing in an environment where every one is trying to win you should never encounter these unlocks since they're are in most of the situations way less effective than "meta" items and if they're effective to kill one player they will become awful when you encounter another opponent 5 seconds later
also the aim of the competitive community (not everyone in it) is to get valve to support us and accept the way we play the game and this is one of the necessary evils it requires

I think we could give valve some really good feedback on some of the items if they were unbanned for at least a season
imo this is my current utopian whitelist
if jarate is banned, sydney should stay banned. the ss is only a direct upgrade from jarate imo (jarate with range and damage).
pretty boy's needs to be tested, but if you hit at least 4 shots then you're getting double digit health back which is life or death for a scout
dragon's fury seems fine post-update imo
anything that gives crits for doing your job as that class should always be banned (buff banner, diamondback, kgb, etc.) yet i might be in the minority on that one. i also hate the dr, spy should be a class where nobody should have to consistently guess if you're still alive after being detected.
i'm on the edge about the atomizer, but that much mobility in any scenario is too much for scout. iirc during the test period, scouts were reaching areas they shouldn't. while it might be balanced for in-combat fights, it still allows too much general mobility.
mantreads fucks with being able to predict soldier similar to the atomizer and winger for scout, and i'm not quite sure i'd want that unbanned.

Ooh yes love threads where 30 people post their own ideal whitelist
