#63 quake live? in Off Topic

Gr8Stalin

I remember trying to get some of my T:A buddies into QL. Problem with that ended up being the fact that only three of us had past arena shooter experience and one guy got real buttpained and we had to call it quits to avoid a group schism. Come to think of it, he was also the reason why the same thing happened when we tried to play NS2.

That aside, playing QL will probably go far in scraping the rust off. QL shenanigans are usually fun and hopefully the skill discrepancy isn't too big. Railgun instagib CTF is loads of fun, especially on REALLY bad maps like japanesecastles or maps with painfully long sightlines like Skyward.

kevmario & luigi:superstar saga

Hell yeah motherfucker

I'm thinkin' about investing in a 3DS for the new one they're making. Bowser's Inside Story was amazing and I hope they do just as well for the next one.

#1 Your favorite game(s) in Off Topic

Out of curiosity, what are your favorite games (TF2 notwithstanding)?

Every year I try to give Republic Commando, Wind Waker, and Paper Mario a replay. Quake, Doom, and the Warhammer 40k series will always have a special place in my game library. In recent months I've become a big fan of the Ys series and I've been trying to do a 100% Nightmare run for Ys 1.

#7 Time-sink tv series? in Off Topic

The Wire like Boar said. Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and Generation Kill are more mini-series than anything else but still worth watching. House is a good timesink. Whose Line Is It Anyway is a classic if you want to laugh. I have Boardwalk Empire sitting on my external and I've heard some good things about that show's first season.

If you want to press into cartoon valley, go watch Ed Edd and Eddy and Samurai Jack. The TMNT cartoon that ran from 2003 to 2009 is good too although that's seven seasons long.

NoonaThis is also going to go back to the gun control thing, and I think it may even be taken as far to go for regulating first person shooters, especially Call of Duty, and maybe even TF2. Which makes me wonder...
...Do you think video games make kids/people violent?

#60 Your Biggest Regrets in Off Topic

Existing in the New York City public school system. I hated math for a long time because it wasn't easy for me to grasp and every teacher I had didn't feel like actually teaching the material and instead prepped us for the NYS Regents exam which in reality is a fucking joke in terms of actual mathematics. I haven't had to take any remedial courses but I'm stuck learning Precalculus in my first semester at my new college as a CS major. I was taking it at my community college but just going to put this out there fuck you Abe Mantell just because you teach everything up to and past Calc 3 doesn't mean you use later mathematics concepts to teach Precalculus.

For TF2, I regret not putting in experience time. I was part of a pug group that formed into a few teams years ago, and I got left behind when I went to go work upstate at my old sleepaway camp. When I got back everyone had moved upward and onward, and I dropped most hope of finding a team and just stomped pubs for a long time.

Real talk this is probably the coolest team recruitment page I've ever seen. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if they don't get a medic.

#1 Demoman LFT in Recruitment (looking for team)

I'm open to either 6s or HL to get my feet back on the ground. Fees/Mumble/etc aren't a problem. Have to get ready for the big move to my college dorm in August but I should have enough time to play until then and after if the net there isn't wireless. Shout if you need more info.

#23 Why do I get hit on by gay guys but not girls? in Off Topic
stultusAs far as sex itself goes people keep telling me to hire an escort. I have no interest in paying for sex. It doesn't seem like a very logical course of action and I keep telling people this. I don't know why everyone suggests it. The problem is I want to have sex a *girlfriend*. Maybe I will if I'm desperate enough.

The instant a meme or an internet reference is uttered in a public setting you know you're dealing with retards and that you need to grab your loved one(s) and vacate.

#8 New build in Hardware

That's great. The case looks good although I'm a humungous sheep idiot who likes brand name cases over anything else. I'm sketchy on ASRock's quality because I hear just as many bad things about them as I hear good ones. $690 is definitely pushing it, but I'll have to see what my expenses are going to be and how much money I'm gonna get.

You've been infinitely helpful. Thanks bud.

#6 New build in Hardware
Jstn7477, frkn<mATX being a cheaper solution and generally better than ITX>

You guys are right about that. I could easily cut costs that way, but I always wanted to experiment with an ITX build, seeing that people are putting some confidence into it.

Realistically, I'll probably switch to mATX. The problem with budget is that I haven't received the unused money from my Pell grant yet, so I don't know how much else I have to work with. I want to assume right now, somewhere around the 600 mark is good, with 650 to 700 pushing it.
