Full credit to the Euros, they were clearly more prepared and deserved to win. But I have to think HRG's schedule played a part. They JUST came off ESEA LAN (including weeks of preparation) with a decidedly different meta with the Quick Fix. Then they had zero practice with the Euro rule set and jumped straight into i49. Remember half their team never played Euro rules before.
It's kind of the reverse of the situation at i46. NA teams were well-prepared and focused and maybe surprised the Euros a little bit. This time the EU teams (and iM!, sucks they went out like that) came ready and caught out HRG.

From an unbiased standpoint, everyone knew Epsilon would win. HRG just got 2nd instead of 3rd..
Although I'm sure the different in rules played a factor, I don't think any of them were individually changed the final outcome.

And pre-i49 discussions/predictions were pretty much exactly like pre-i46 discussions/predictions.
Can't just call EU to win everytime and then proclaim that "Yeah, I knew it. See? Told you!" when they win, while completely avoiding/ignoring that other time when you said the exact same thing but were wrong.

To be completely fair HRG got their 6K dollars prize money in ESEA AND got payed for everything by community to go abroad. And plus, they get haribos. What could be better than that?
And in the end it does not matter which continent has 6 players on the pedestal (prize money is a jk). They are there to give a good show and have a great time while it lasts.

TF2 World Championship is a serious business mate :) In the end Epsilon got their pride and hrg their money. I hope to see you next year in Telford so you can have it. Majority of current players are quitting so eu scene is back to it's pre i46 state
