So what exactly is your ruling on it then? There doesn't seem to be any consistent enforcement on name-calling, shitposting, or anything not "family friendly." The LAN drinking game OP got deleted for who knows what reason? Both would you rathers that got deleted had more than a page of people actually talking seriously about the question.

I'm genuinely interested in knowing if there is now an explicit ruling on the content we're allowed to post here.

I've seen a lot of posts deleted that were just gifs or other random harmless things, I'm fine with deleting threads/posts that are actually awful, but moderation seems to be completely sporadic and inconsistent. Not trying to say that you yourself are the cause of it, but it really does seem ridiculous at times lately.

If we want to take into account community size as a reason for no longer being allowed to post the shit we were able to on gotfrag then we should probably also consider that this community probably wouldn't exist today if it wasn't for gotfrag being fucking hilarious to be around.

They weren't exactly harmful or degrading to anyone, and were clearly facetious.

Those sorts of jokes are made around here constantly. I wasn't even playing during cp_ashville and still heard plenty of people refer to it as cp_auschwitz. What people find offensive is entirely their decision and only that, mind you that TF2 is an M rated game.

Then if the forum has grown since the gotfrag days, can we just get rid of blue/colored names except for administrators and TwitchTVJohn, then? Believe it or not, people gravitate towards anyone with a blue name and treat their word like gospel regardless of whether or not their post is logically sound. And since frags have become reminiscent of the "karma" system that reddit uses to judge whether or not a post is good instead of the content within it, it easily reduces discussion to a popularity contest.

Yeah old gotfrag was a collection of team circlejerks but the frag system was so easily manipulated with alt-accounts that they didn't really matter. This place has gotten ridiculous.

There are a whole lot more people in this community than there were during the days of Gotfrag, but the memories from them are still dear to a lot of people here in one way or another. There shouldn't be a problem with keeping the memories alive, but people need to stop trying to make this TFTV* ???? ? ?????? ??? ?? ???????.

The community has grown and matured a lot. We're a lot more serious about being taken seriously than we were then. There is no reason to take steps back.
