Hi, I'm Kella. I've never encountered this problem before in tf2 or in any game. I also may be an idiot.
The game audio seems to be broken for some reason. I have tried re-installing all parts of tf2 including the Team Fortress 2 folder, also verifying the game cache and removing all custom files from the cfg and custom folders that I have installed. I've asked around and looked on the internet a ton, still no fix. For some reason at the same time itunes has stopped working audio-wise as well. I have checked and the audio for both are with my headphones, just like they always have been. All other steam games have sound, steam works fine, and any other program I have or video I watch all have audio, its just tf2 and itunes don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated, feel free to add me!

FayngIs TF2 muted in volume mixer?
I completely forgot about that, thanks a ton. Is there a reason for why it would just mute itself like that?

If youre running windows 8, the volume gets really low when i talk in mumble/join mumble, or use any voice communication system (skype)

I'm pretty sure mumble also mutes music and other background sounds, unless you specify in the communications tab in sound devices (do nothing vs reduce volume of other sounds by 50%)
