yo, ive recently switched to dx9 and im kind of annoyed by the fog that seems to appear a lot. are there any commands that can get rid of it?

also, what are the commands that can make player models and other objects appear more clearly from longer distances?

The command you are probably looking for is r_pixelfog. Try setting it to 1 and 0 and see which ones less fogy.

FireThe command you're looking for could be mat_picmip .
I believe that dx9 in general is more foggy, causing less visible objects/enemies on long distances (i always notice it on upward 1st for example)

Doesn't mat_picmip just control texture quality?

Correct, mat_picmip spans -1 (ultra-high), 0 (high, which causes crashes on OS X still), 1 (medium) and 2 (low), and you used to be able to go all the way down to -4 or -10 or something if you had a Pixar-movie rendering farm for a PC.

what does that have to do with anything

If your using the nosmoke script that removes the viewmodel particles while shooting, that might be enabling the fog on dx9. Do you have a screenshot of the fog your experiencing?
