There was a movie I watched recently that had like a 30% on rotten tomatoes but was like a 8.9 or something like that on imdb. Rotten tomatoes seems pretty inconsistent to me

dc actually has a lot of cool characters and stories that could make really good movies if in the right hands but all of their recent outings have been downright embarrassing

i don't understand the hype behind this movie beyond people wanting to see characters they love on screen because all material relating to this movie that has been released thus far has made it look absolutely awful imo

also max imdb is the worst metric out there for film criticism

I have no idea why DC and Marvel refuse to do these huge superhero movies and not have them fight Super-Villans. There are so many awesome super villans to build stories around for any movie. If they would cut out all the cheesy love stories and just get to fighting and superpowers, it would solve everything.

Also, has anyone heard anything about Thanos? The first Avengers was such an awesome movie and they did not even fight and real villan. They left us with the best tease possible when Thanos appeared at the end of the credits but there has been no mention of the follow-up movie.

Love story/love interest is the formula. It's hard to pull off a movie without some sort of love story tied in, regardless of genre. I know someone will go try and cherry pick some now and yes they do exist, but a love story is a pretty tried and true device for movies.
