Lawena VDM Generator: Add Record or Exec + Record?

The most recent version of Lawena has added two new options to generating VDMs, and I thought I'd ask because I had some issues with using it the other night.

Ok, so instead of clicking one button that adds your demo ticks to the VDM generator list, you can either add it, or add exec + record. What are the difference between the two?

The other night while recording, I recorded a bunch of VDMs and came back a little while later to find Lawena had recorded a bunch of other random ticks from the same demos until my disc filled up. Does this have anything to do with the above options?
