Found out there is a tool that allows you to benchmark DNS servers so that you know wich ones are fastest for you !

If you dont know, the Domain Name Service is what tells your browser where to take you when you type www.google.com or other URLs in your browser.

The application is called DNS Benchmark and it only takes a minute or two to measure the fastest DNS server for you. You just open, go to "Nameservers" - > click "Run Benchmark" and wait for results

You can easily see how to change your DNS server following a step-by-step guide

Hope you like it!

Be careful when doing things like this. Lots of college campuses force you to use their DNS (by blocking all other DNS traffic) in order to enforce website blacklists and you can end up breaking your connection by doing this. If it seems like this application is broken for you, this is probably why.

If you try an alternative DNS server and it turns out your campus/ISP uses this kind of blocking, follow the steps up to step 5 and click "Obtain DNS server address automatically" to go back to using theirs.
