Ey yo noob pc builder here. I'm building a pc rig to replace my core 2 duo pc which cannot handle playing tf2. But I'm encountering some issues. my PC won't boot up at all, my psu is fine, cause I did that thing where you put a paper clip in 20/4 pin connector and it worked, but I don't know what is causing my pc to not boot up. When I connect the Ethernet cable theres a light showing up so my mobo must be receiving some kind of power. also I don't have the mobo speaker for bios beeps it came with computer case, so am I gonna need the mobo speaker to boot up?

most likely you've just forgotten to plug some cable in. make sure the phat cable (i forget the name) next to the cpu is plugged in and double check all connections
if that doesn't work you shouldnt need the mobo speaker to boot up, i'd recommend trying to boot with each stick of ram individually and without your graphics card just in case one of those is the issue

The GPU doesn't need any extra power, the mobo appears to have power, so you connected at least one out of 2 connectors the mobo needs, but what about the other one and the power button?

Lol I stopped putting it off and starting to fix it now sort of, will a pc boot boot up if one of the cpu pins is bent on the socket? I hadon't a similar issue with that, but it was anot amd cpu and the processor pin was bent, but it booted up but with the bios beeps instead. edit: how do I share photos? I wanna show my pc and shit, but it's minimal if you can't see the issue...

If only there was a booklet sort of thing with instructions, maybe with a helpful picture to tell you which pin is which if you can't tell by the, admittetly a bit confusing to the novice, labeling on the mobo itself, you know, to help you manually install these things. One could call it an instruction manual. Oh wait. THERE IS ONE!

I actually did last month managed to get the pc up and running, last month, and I did in fact connect the system panel connectors correctly. Actually my h1101-a was a new mobo I got from warranty since my last mobo basically died according to the computer guy, who told me the mobo died. Though I'm worried as fuck I killed this mobo as well, so I'm doubting myself if I correctly inserted the system panel connectors right or wrong. Though since I'm connected the ethernet cable and a yellow light shows up, I'm wondering if I killed the mobo or not. What are ways that mobos basically can die?

You have no idea what I've seen already. Humour is the only escape because some days you actually meet someone who is that stupid. I'm glad you're not.
System connectors shouldn't kill it, they'd just prevent form turning on.
It actually worked before, which is new information, I wish you would've told me sooner.
Let's rule out connections for now, since you got those right before or it never would have worked.
That leaves us with
a) that mobo died too or
b) something else died and the mobo doesn't want to turn on.
Let's hope it's not the CPU, because that's a pain in the ass to test.
Remove the GPU, HDD/SSD, everything not necessary to boot and all but one RAM stick. Try again. If it doesn't work try a different RAM slot, if it still doesn't work try a different RAM stick.
Ideally, if you can, get the CPU tested in a different mobo.
The only 400W EVGA PSU that I know of is the EVGA 400W and it's not good.

I mean I still wouldn't recommend the 430W and so on, just because it's horribly outdated tech, but the 400W is genuinely "barely spec"-levels of "not good". It's technically all still ok and legal, but way too close for comfort.
Unless you have been very unlucky and got 2 bad mobos in a row (unless it's the CPU that died of course) there must be some reason. The irony is that more expensive mobos can actually tolerate worse PSUs, not the other way around.
This is still just a guess, but either you are awfully unlocky or it's probably that.

The cpu socket itself, cause it's i5 6500, but there doesn't seem to be any dents or broken part on the cpu itself. Only just one mobo standoff, cause the other one is lost. It's only one single pin on the mobo.

You need standoffs for all mounting holes on the mobo or it might touch the tray, short out and refuse to boot. Are we talking about the same kind of standoffs?

I can't provide pictures of socket, since I fixed it so the pin would be uniform to the other pins, and I don't want to mess it up again.
Yes were talking about the same kind of standoff. those brass mobo standoff that were provided to me, two of them actually, but I only used one of them but my computer managed to boot from last month. So me not using both of the standoff could be potentially the issue. I can buy standoffs separately correct?
