The pilot season for RGL-Invite No Restriction Sixes powered by MarketPlace.tf is about to kick off. Pancake Waffle Rifle and RHDP will battle it out in this first week on Gullywash. With no whitelist and no class limits, what strategies will we see from these teams?
The prize pool for invite is over $2,300, so these teams have a lot to fight for. Especially with this pilot league having such a short season, doing well every game is crucial to get your team to that top place finish.
Watch it live tonight at 9pm Eastern, with sigafoo and VoxDei casting & DolphiN on camera, at twitch.tv/RGLgg.
Invite Season Schedule:
- Week 1 - March 13th - cp_gullywash_final1
- Week 2 - March 20th - pl_upward
- Week 3 - March 27th - cp_process_final
- Week 4 - April 3rd - koth_viaduct
- Week 5 - April 10th - cp_snakewater_final1
- Semi-Finals - April 17th - BO3 (1 5cp, 1 PL, 1 Koth)
- Grand Finals - April 24rd - BO3 (1 5cp, 1 PL, 1 Koth)

We also have 75+ teams playing in divisions without any cash prize. To put in perspective, ESEA and UGC (NA) have only about ~60 teams total in each.
And the most interesting part is that we have a "newbie" div that is 18 teams large, that is purely teams of six players with basically no comp experience. This is separate from our "Open" divs, which has around 22 teams.
It's been a long time since I've seen so many completely fresh teams in a league.

the league is cool and all but for the map list, I know they're aiming for ingame maps but stock viaduct is disgusting.

I don't disagree, I'm very much on the edge about the original viaduct. The thing that I think is good about stock viaduct is that connector is filled in actually helps allow flex classes to see more play and be more viable. Whereas in Product, the soldier completely dominates that area.
I was planning on reaching out to a map maker to see if we could take Product, but make connector closer to the original. So then the version we could use is basically koth_viaduct, except for being symmetrical and other fixes that the map makers have put in over the years.
