So tf2 is now on linux, and from what i've understood valve are doing the same thing they did with linux. these might go up in value like earbuds did, so get yours quickly :>
They're untradable (unsure if they will be tradable in the future), so I don't think there will be any value in these unless valve decides to make them tradable.
(They probably will though, after the promotional period as with most promotional items. I wasn't around during the mac update, so I don't know if earbuds were like this too.)

Earbuds are valuable because they are a common currency used among traders. There are plenty of items less common than buds that are worth far less than them.
