1) all headsets generally have issues occur in just a few months. check your warranty
2) there is no reliable headset. buy good headphones + modmic/blue mics (if u wanna splurge)

ive had a budget sades set since like 2016 thats, in my experience at least, been built to last, and neither mic nor sound quality have dipped in the slightest since ive owned it

im not sure if that an anomaly but for this g430 set to shit the bed after like 100 hours of use is pretty bummer

idk man maybe u have to yell consistently into the mic like showstopper's g430 for it to last longer

Most headsets are dumb for multiple reasons. They are basically really shity headphones + a mic taped together.

Coolermaster mh751 is a takstar pro82 rebrand and supposedly incredibly comfortable. You don't need an XLR setup, its mic works fine for TF2

Unfortunately it has a significant markup over pro82s. You can get new pro 82s on ebay right now for $50.

This is probably the best headset you can get at a reasonable price, both the headphones and microphone themselves are of a high quality.

Nearly exactly what I got. Bought the m20x and replaced the earpads, works great for me and they're really comfortable if you just chuck in an extra 10-20 euro for earpad replacements, while still being pretty affordable

screwb isn't wrong but I have both headphones (Audeze LCD-2C) + mic (blue yeti) and the cloud II's and for tf2 it's pretty hard to tell the difference. You can save money buying a zalman and takstars but you also get the convenience of a single wire, and USB for about $20.

Get the Audio Technica ATH-AD700X + Modmic combination. Its one of the cheapest audiophile headphones you can buy but its also a fair bit more expensive than the G430. Compared to the various Logitech and Hyper X headsets I've owned over the years its well worth the price mainly for its incredible comfort. The audio quality is superior to any "Gaming Headset" you will find also.

this is correct, i couldnt find a decent deal on both quality headphones and a modmic / snowball / coolermaster without either buying something cheap that would break in a month or exceeding my $80 college budget

if i was in the market to upgrade instead of replace i probably wouldve splashed cash but i just wanna hear and be heard in scrims

Takstar pro 82s or Philips SHP9500 and a zalman mic would have been well below $80 while being built better and sounding better. It was recommended by me and others in this thread multiple times.
