By popular demand following the success of June’s 4v4 PASS Time Draft Cup, passtime.tf is organizing a tournament at the end of August! Featuring a 100 key (and counting) prize pool, this tournament is open to anyone who wishes to play! No experience required. In fact, all Grandmaster and Master Elite players (the two highest ranks in the Discord) will be barred from participation to help make the cup a more welcoming experience.
4v4 PASS Time
4v4 PASS Time is a fast-paced and highly skillful competitive format using mechanics from the casual version of PASS Time. It challenges teams to use their mechanical skills (rocket jumps, deathmatch ability, trimps, surfs, etc) as well as solid teamwork and communication to claim victory on our array of custom built maps for the game mode.

4v4 PASS Time Open Tournament
Registration is open now and closes on Wednesday, 28 August, at 21:00 EDT. In order to play, you must join the 4v4 PASS Time Discord; there are channels to look for players, scrims, or a team in the Discord.
The tournament will begin the evening of Friday, 30 August and run through Sunday, 1 September. The event will feature a double-elimination bracket. Specific match times have yet to be scheduled and will be determined from the number of competitors.
Registration and more details about the event can be accessed through the Google Form. Registration is open to both teams, with a maximum of five players, and individuals. Tournament operators will attempt to place individual registrants into teams ahead of the event.
4v4 PASS Time Draft Showmatch
To help promote the upcoming 4v4 PASS Time Open Tournament, passtime.tf is organizing a showmatch featuring North America’s very best PASS Time players brawling it out in a best-of-five series!
The drafting process of NA’s elite PASS Time players, familiar to those who may have spectated June’s 4v4 PASS Time Draft Cup, has resulted in two incredibly fearsome teams:
On the GOBLIN JACKS side, tomato tom’s record-breaking rocket jumping skills and Invite level DM are joined by the skills of current PASS Time Master Elite player kaden, as well as Danmar33 and cringy, who are looking to make a case for their own Master Elite status following their first place finish in June’s Draft Cup as part of Allahb.
Assworms, Inc. is sat on the other side of the aisle, consisting of PASS Time veterans exer, charlesmingus, and Kibble Bites. This is not to say that birthday boy* speakers’ Demo should be underestimated -- merely that he is the new kid on the block relative to this gathering of the format’s old blood.

Global Ruleset & Map Pool
With the growing influence of 4v4 PASS Time across the globe, including the inaugural ETF2L PASS Time cup which wrapped up recently and featured thirty-five teams, PASS Time admins from North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania gathered to hash out the gamemode’s first global whitelist and map pool. The 4v4 PASS Time Open Tournament and Draft Showmatch will be the first events to be played on the new global map pool and ruleset!
Outside of a standardized list of unlocks, the Global PASS Time Ruleset also includes plugin modifications that match Demoman’s jack throw velocity and arc to that of Soldier’s (Demo has a slightly higher velocity throw by default), and enable medics to turn a thrown jack neutral by hitting it with a crossbow bolt, thus giving Medic players parity with the other classes’ primary weapons which can neutral the jack.
The first global map pool features a number of returning favorites but also some new blood – notably Maple, a cozy and compact fall-themed arena, and Mann Damm, a dam-themed map with pipes that teleport the jack to provide unique self-bomb opportunities.
