If you really want to play on a team, don't aim for anything less than making it on a team! Aim low, achieve low, but if you aim above what you think you're capable of, who knows where you can go?
That said, you'll be playing Steel with other guys who have close to the same amount of experience as you. It'll be a learning experience for all of you guys, and you can all learn together. :)

CAREFULLY pick your players, don't just get them because they seem chill the first tryout.
I've made that mistake, twice.
It's a really fun experience to make a team, just make sure you don't mind spending 3 months with the players you pick, try to make your team a family.
