Anytime I try to connect to a community server via the console using the "connect;password" command it gives me the 'bad password' error. My friends can copy paste the exact info and it will still give me the same message. If I try connect through the community servers window, its the same response. The only way I am able to join is through the steam overlay, right clicking a friend who is already in the server, and putting in the password there.

I have rented my own server but now I have to disable the password just to join it and then re-enable it after I connect. Furthermore, I cannot use the rcon password, as it says its a bad password. Keep in mind, I am the one who creates the rcon password as well as the one with access to all of the server control.

I do not know if these two issues are related, but anything password related within my tf2 simply does not work.

I have verified my game files, reinstalled, and tried dozens of times to make sure its not a simple input error.

Has anyone ever encountered this? Any ideas for fixing this?
