so I've been trying use a lightwarp for a video I'm working on but it's a .vtf file. I dont know where to put it so it shows up in demos. the only other lightwarps I have used were .vpk . do I have to change something or install it somewhere that I didn't try yet? I use lawena if that helps. thanks
Not sure the exact solution but perhaps try extracting the vpk file to see the directory structure. Should show you where you need to put the files.
/materials/models/lightwarps/file.vtf for weapons
/materials/models/player/pyro/file.vtf for characters
i remember it only used to work for these two, you cant shade the maps unless im mistaken

Rockz/materials/models/lightwarps/file.vtf for weapons
/materials/models/player/pyro/file.vtf for characters
tf/materials or tf/custom/customfolder/materials
I've tried both and neither seem to work :/
or should I make another materials folder in tf/custom

zandatf/custom/customfolder/materials
this one, also note that those vtf's must be specifically named
eg in models -> hand_lightwarp.vtf; mirv_lightwarp.vtf; weapon_lightwarp.vtf
player/pyro -> pyro_lightwarp
now i don't know if vmt's are needed, but those are easily generated in vtfedit, just be careful with specifying the destination in them

I forgot to make the models folder in tf/custom/customfolder/materials oops
