Crosshair occasionally spasms with new mouse

I just got a g pro wireless a month or two ago and it's been a good mouse, but every so often (maybe once every 2 or 3 nights) my crosshair snaps straight up and spins in a circle, looks like one of those spinbots in pubs. Any idea what could be causing it/how to fix it?

make sure the usb dongle thingy is somewhere north of your mousepad and not just plugged straight into your tower

That's exactly what it looks like lmao

hoolimake sure the usb dongle thingy is somewhere north of your mousepad and not just plugged straight into your tower

Can you clarify? I have the receiver connected to my tower, is there some other USB port it should be plugged into?

Its called a mouse spinout, it can be caused by a few things

physical debris, such as dust, dirt, or other grime on your mousepad or sensor causing it to spin out
a high dpi setting, along with a flick causes spinouts, typically seen in older mice or cheap mice
receiver interference, use a usb extension dongle and make sure there is nothing between your mouse and the usb receiver, ideally keep it right next to your mousepad. keep electronic devices such as your phone out of the line-of-sight of your mouse and receiver

yeah so the mouse comes with a usb cable that you are intended to use so that the receiver is away from the tower. the reason is that if the receiver is plugged directly into the mobo it can pick up electrical interference emitted from your tower
