I currently do not have a desktop (saving up to buy one) and I currently play on my laptop, it is a cheesy HP notebook, but it runs TF2 pretty well(on the lowest settings of course :p )
My biggest concern is that I play for about 30 mins, then the game just freezes for about 2 or 3 minutes then starts back up, then it does the same thing 15 mins later or 30, 40 mins(at random) later… But it doesn’t crash out, the game just unfreezes and continues smoothly.
The laptop gets quite hot, do you think it’s that? What can I do to prevent it from getting so hot?
Or something else?
I can’t play in any pugs because I don’t want to be freezing out all the time or during a really bad time LOL
Thanks in advanced! I appreciate your guy’s help!

If you're playing in a border less window, try switching to full screen and see if the problem goes away.

How old is your laptop? Chances are dust and other debris has built up in the heatsink, compromising heat dissipation even after just a few months of use. Do you regularly clean your laptop's ventilation system using something like a can of compressed gas? I know HP laptops aren't exactly known for great cooling systems, but I'm just curious if you have done that sort of maintenance at all.
