mic doesn't work when streaming

i'm posting for on behalf of my friend here. so he uses obs, but his mic doesn't work on stream. i'm able to hear him fine in mumble while he streams. i tried googling the problem, but no luck.

any suggestions?

maybe try and set a push to talk key

make sure he has the correct input set under the audio settings?

What function of OBS is he using to stream? I know for several scenes it disables microphone input. Try going with game capture if he hasn't
