NA needs a new superteam to rival HRG. Tri hards and Mixup, I believe in you.

...Have you looked at both of their rosters? Both Tri hards and mix^ could be considered superteams. HRG has an entire season of experience playing together with this exact roster.

b4nny hitting every ***** pipe throughout a match doesn't hurt either.

hrg is not even a team full of superstars. they're just smart and cohesive. When teams start playing smarter, b4nny and friends might finally go down.

They kind of are though. They are all very good players, and a lot of them are considered "the best" at their role by many people. b4nny, Tagg, Lansky, Shade

But you could make that same argument for the Tri Hards as well. It just seems like the tri hards always have one or two players having an "off" performance and never play to their full potential. Same thing for mixup. Usually with mixup, either platinum or the scouts underperform in any given match/scrim.

I don't understand why everyone is getting worked up over this. How do you expect any newly formed team to dethrone last seasons champions when they had no roster changes. If that's how competition worked it wouldn't make sense. If the current mixup and tri hards stay together for next season and their teamwork improve then they can contest HRG. But if everyone just splits up and try to make super teams to take HRG down it won't work. They need the chemistry of a roster with multiple season under their belt.

Well, HRG kinda did that last season, although mixup did switch the roster a bit.

Mixup changed 2 players HRG changed 3. Pretty close. It just so happened that HRG had the better chemistry/more practice time and less roster issues. Mixup did swap people to different classes quite a bit. They started the season with TLR demo and Plat as pocket.

That isn't really a fair comparison. Although go back and look at their roster history. They didn't stick with the same 6 both seasons. And no offense to vector they are all better than myself but they were never really on the same level as the rest of invite. They were moved up from IM prematurely.

B-but that Gravel Pit match vs. Fully Torqued last season...

They're a team full of superstars AND they're smart and cohesive.
Their smarts and cohesion just mean they have most of their success as a unit, so the individual superstars appear less superstarry than they would if they were on a lesser team and carrying it by making all the big plays.

originally banny was the only superstar on the team- shade and cyzer were solid but other than that everybody had been relatively lackluster at least when it came to LAN

banny picked dudes he thought were

1. reliable
2. didnt have THAT big of egos
3. dedicated as fuck
4. could play well together

none of these guys are bad players individually, and everybody on the team frags pretty well as a unit

id say over the past 32 games tagg/lansky/shrugger have really come into their own as players to really look out for when they play but it definitely wasnt always like that- especially at the start

again not trying to take away anything from them, theyve obviously achieved a lot and are incredibly powerful on their own/as a team but as far as taking any of them and putting them on another team the only one i really see making a huge impact is banny

mix^ season 12 was a team of superstars

hrg is much closer to x6 season 8 where its a solid core with a bunch of team-oriented guys supporting them

I agree with mason except for lansky, I always felt like he was a superstar on pocket (such as on Goin' Heavy), and that people were really underrating him or even saying he was better at roamer (which he wasn't)

rofl who the hell are these fools voting woot as the best demoman? At what point did smart play and good aim become overlooked in favor of random mouse flicking and laying stickies everywhere in between constant failed jumps on the enemy medic. Obviously a better teammate than destro or solid, who actually attempt to do damage rather than just cleanup garbage frags.

here is a fun game: download a woot demo or stv of his team and attempt to count the number of shots which are aimed. Place bets with friends in mumble over how many times he will stickyjump into the other team to make up for his lack of dming ability. I know it's tempting to spec sureshot carrying him but take the time to truly observe this demoman and try to decipher what exactly he is attempting to do for his team at any given time. and if you still think he is good go to steam, right click tf2, select "delete local content" and take up a mw2 gaming career.
