my friends told me to get it way back in late 2008 and i did and they took me to a 24/7 goldrush server to teach me how to play. they told me to play scout because he's fast and can double jump and i thought it was actually the greatest thing in the world.

When I was a console gamer I played TF2 on the Orange Box on the 360. My first time playing it was on 2fort as an engineer, setting up in the intel room. I also saw scouts double jumping and I thought the Scouts were hackers.

I downloaded this game a month or two after it went F2P, because my friends had started playing it (we used to play online video games together). My first ever game was in a singleplayer cp_dustbowl match after I finished the soldier tutorial.
As far as my first online experience went, all I really remember trying out sniper on 2fort being like wtf this class is impossible to play (having to charge shots, bodyshots only do 50, and having to headshot scouts, etc.) That and playing scout without realizing I could double jump.

somebody on my dorm hall told me to get orangebox so i bought it + garrys mod for 20 bucks
when i wasnt playing on roleplaying servers in gmod (i was a drug dealer and thought i was the shit) i would play pyro on 24/7 orange 100% crit servers with a trackpad
i remember getting some kind of like 45:20 kd and basically considering myself to have conquered the game
years later i started playing lobbies with a bunch of the eximius/blight guys from l4d2 and met snypes and brucecaboose
then snypes (rip, hope you go huge in hockey) sent me the fanom video and i thought id try to play more comp
i quit to go back to l4d2 after my first season, then decided to play again after meeting meb and grape
weve added a few more faced to the crowd, but for the most part now we just sit in mumble and talk shit

I started tf2 pretty early, at the age of 9 or 10, (14 now). I don't know if it was my first map, but ctf_mach4 seems to come to mind when I think of my early tf2 days. It was the map that I hit my first airshot on, and I went nuts. Fun memories . =P

joined a pub, played soldier, was really bad so after a few more times of trying I quit for like 6 months :[ got into L4D instead and played that a lot before trying TF2 again and starting to like it after that.

My first map was ctf_2fort. I was pretty much inspired to play this game by a youtuber. At first, I played Spy. I didn't know such things as backstabs, so I kept saying "wtf, why are you not dying i stabbed in front of you."

TheJesterAnyone remember the very first server they entered, the first class they picked, and the first thing they did?
I remember a couple years ago. I didn't really know how the server browser worked, so I just entered a random server which turned out to be a pyro achievement server or some shit. I went medic and healed bots for a few minutes before realizing that I've been had. Good times.

It took me 15 minutes to find that shotgun isn't as powerful as I thought.
Stupidest Encounter: my first time on an achievement server I went on the bot team and healed a bot who was blown into spawn while trying to communicate with him.
