Mouse only goes certain speed

Hey all. Recently I've been having a big problem with my mouse. It seems that whenever I flick or move my mouse really fast, the mouse goes only a certain speed ingame. Say I'm moving my mouse at 20mph, ingame it only goes for about 15mph. Even if I move my mouse 40mph physically, it only goes for 15. It's like the mouse movement is capped at a certain speed. But the crosshair does go on my target with the same mouse movement as a normal mouse, even if it takes a little longer to get there. This causes my screen to keep moving for a few milliseconds after I stopped moving my mouse. It also causes my mouse movement to seem very mechanical because it always goes the same speed if I move it fast enough. So whenever I rocket jump, it takes about half a second longer because the mouse doesn't turn as fast as I'm moving it. I'm sorry if this is confusing, because it's really hard to explain. If you need like a video of my mouse movement, I'll gladly post it. Also, I have raw input enabled.

it sounds like you're hitting the max speed of your mouse and as such its experiencing negative mouse accel or something, but then you say it moves a few seconds after you stop so it sounds like input lag.
maybe a mixture of both, have you tried changing your sens to one that doesnt require you to move your mouse as fast? or tried a different usb port?

I don't have vsync on, and I have tried changing the usb ports. I really really really would not like to change my sensitivity... I don't think I'll ever get used to the high sens again.

i think youre overestimating how hard it is to change sens lol

the difficulty of it is different for different people. just because you can adjust to a new sens easily doesn't mean someone else is able to.

what kind of mouse is it? is it old? might be breaking, might have a bad sensor or something. more info is always good when trying to get help for something

I've got a mate with a shitty mouse that does exactly this. I figure it's simply inbuilt mouse smoothing, that weird shit some mice have so when you sweep a line across the screen it smooths it into a direct line at a certain speed.

No ways to fix it I think, unless it's driver-based and you could get custom drivers to the mouse, but i'm betting it's probably cheap and no-one will have made one for it, but i'm pretty sure it's hardwired to the mouse.
