Demo Badlands Rollout Help

I need serious help with the dropdown demo jump in the demo Badlands rollout. I can do every other map, I can even air-pogo more reliably than I can do the Blands RO.

Ive spent 30 minutes just doing that jump over and over, and I got to about 80% reliability. But when I do the entire rollout, I fck up the jump about 95% of the time. Thats just practicing offline. In actual games I botch it even more.

I keep practicing but never seem to get better. Does anyone have any tips? A really slow motion video would be helpful with very specific sticky placement and det time.

Any help is appreciated.

dont jump and place the sticky fully off of the concrete, on the metal sheets, fairly low.

if you cant hit it consistently, its fine to jump out and then use a jump off the ground to house

I used to have a lot of trouble with this jump when I started ESEA a few years back. The sticky location is pretty flexible on the metal sheet, and as the videos and people above me said you don't have to (and probably shouldn't) jump when going out the window.

You're most likely having issues with det timing if you're struggling with the jump. All I can really say is that you're probably rushing it. You can det the sticky fairly late as you're walking out the window. If you're still having issues, try practicing with extremes. See what happens when you det your sticky too late and what happens when you det it too early.

I don't know if it's necessary at all, but I've always crouched as I exit the window and det then. It's become a habit of mine and helped me with timing.

When you come down drop down, hold a instead of w and crouch. From there on it's just practice! It took me like a month of practice to make it consistent.

Yea dude. Its really as easy as place sticky as it is in video, walk out, crouch, right click.

First of all, it's not unusual that you can do the jump alone, but mess it up when doing the entire rollout, I had the same problem.

Which stairjump are you using atm? Some make the transition harder and some make it easier.

I recommend doing the whole rollout when you're practising because it's the only way to practise the transitions (so you're not only less likely to mess them up, but you might also be able to save some time).

You can also add me if you want.

I'd recommend following Kaidus's guide as much as you can, there's a reason that a rollout guide is what he made. One of the major points he stresses is to not do the jump on its own, always practice rollouts in full, even if it means 10 seconds or more between jump attempts. Also if you're finding offline different to online, use the net_fakelag command, e.g. net_fakelag 25 would give you a simulated ping of around 50ms.

The kaidus guide is super helpful. I still often find my self being shot into the ground only halfway to the diagonal bridge. Is there a command to show my speed on the screen, similarly to quake live?

Another problem I have is with 100 ping often my stickies just disappear after shooting them, making rollouts infuriating.

Stickies disappearing might be due to loss, but I'm not sure.
