Try loading Team Fortress 2 with the beta version. (Right click it in steam -> properties -> betas -> pre_hwn_2013 -> make sure you opt out when you need to play actual TF2.)

No idea if this will fix it.

So i tried demobuddy and almie aswell now and i get the same problem with all of them - game crashes right after it loads up the demo.

Tried the maxquality alone ( so not playing the demo through lawena) and that seems to be the problem.

Does anyone know if maxquality is bugged with new demos or does anyone have a similar problem using maxquality?

Did some more testing and i cant play the demo ( two days ago recorded) when i run anything other than my usual dx9frames. So i thought maybe that was the problem but then again the other demo ( feburary 2014) works fine without dx9 frames, works with maxquality and runs with lawena perfectaly fine.

If anyone would be willing to test my demo on their pc (preferebly someone that doesnt use dx9 frames) feel free to add me, help much appreciated.

I used lawena today with demos that I recorded yesterday, everything worked just fine.

But what else could it be?

Lawena temporarily replaces configs anyways so it cant be that, can it?

The thing that confuses me is that other demos work fine, even with the high settings. I´m only on a laptop so i thought maybe my laptop just can´t handel it but that doesnt make much sense then.

Did you try PLDX recording tool? But it will probably crash just like the others.

Maybe you had a bind that called on some other cfg or something like that, or something that only works with sv_cheats 1 or something? I think there's some ways for it to only work in demos and not in game (like quit but not have it quit the game when you hit the key, only in the demo)
edit: yeah just taking a guess, I'll try messing with it and/or trying it without lawena maybe. Could be a broken demo though

Currently I can't dl the demo and see how you named it (because of shitty internet, I can't even open the dl site). But if you had spaces or weird characters, it might crash. So, try to rename the demo to a single word, without capitals or anything. Just try "demotest" or something.

Edit: nvm, I forgot that you can play it without lawena.

I had the same issue just yesterday with lewena, if you haven't tried already just play a new demo then try out a old one, that's what I did to get the demo's working.
also I recommend not renaming the demo files

I finally found out what the cause of the problem is.

I recorded a new demo as scout and it worked fine with lawena.

Then i recorded a new demo as soldier ( the one i´m trying to get to work is soldier as well) and it crashes as soon as the demo loads.

So i assume the problem has something to do with my soldier cfg.
I dont really have anything in there that i dont have for my scout.cfg as well.

Is there a way to exec regular configs in lawena?

Oké, I tried your demo, first with lawena, then without lawena and my own configs and hud installed. It crashed both times. So, the demo might be corrupted or something.

So yeah in case someone else ever has this problem as well, removing my soldier config made it so i can play demos again ( new ones)
