It could be a good idea to show a little bit of the Free To Play documentary. I think it would be a nice intro on the subject
Writing 20 pages on any one subject is hard. Killings idea of challenging the traditional notion of sports is great, run with that. Also, if I were you, when my writing felt like it was getting stale, I'd branch off onto the subject of violence in video games and how games (as well as music) are always made to be the scapegoat in the wake of a violent event (like the columbine shooting in the late 90s). Defending video games against those claims could easily fill quite a few pages. As long as you keep it even slightly connected to your topic of the rising popularity of competitive gaming (which should be easy) that'll help fill pages and change up the vibe so it doesn't just sound like "I like video games" for 10 minutes / 20 pages to the average person. You could then transition back to your core topic by talking about how instead of being tied to real world violence, gaming can be linked to great charity work like tip of the hats. Enlighten them, fill pages, and promote the community. Wins all around.

Might be able to help with an interview if it's on the Friday or Saturday. I've helped a friend with something similar to this a few years ago, so I have a rough idea.
