So recently one of my friends just messaged me on steam with a link to a dropbox containing two screensaver type files, saying
"(dropbox URL)- explain these photos please.."
I'm not posting the URL in case some retard decides to download it.
Based on the comments on his steam profile and the my antivirus regarding the files as a threat before locking them in the virus chest, it's same to assume that this is some kind of elaborate program that steals your steam account info directly from the computer and that my friend has probably had his account hijacked through the same method. If one of your friends acts out of character and messages you with a strange dropbox link and some message like the one above, do not click it. Be on the lookout for other ways of phishing, since not so many people are falling for the "add my friend on steaamcomuniity.com" shit anymore.
Edit: Apparently this has been reported before and is not "new". My bad, but still keep a lookout so you don't fall victim to this like my friend.

A keylogger records keystrokes but NOT pre-entered passwords which means the user actually has to type the login information in, in order for the program to actually steal your information.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
A keylogger records keystrokes but NOT pre-entered passwords which means the user actually has to type the login information in, in order for the program to actually steal your information.
Also "Steam is smart" wtf steam encrypts their passwords yeah but so does almost everyone else; they don't have some kind of magical encryption that makes them invincible
