I recently hooked my T.V. up to my PC using an HDMI cable so now i have two displays for my PC, but I have a question/issue.
When playing TF2, occasionally when I rocket jump (Shift+Space+Mouse 1+ A or D) I won't go anywhere, and my start menu for my PC will pop open, forcing me to have to tab back into TF2. Is there a way to fix that or no? I know I can scroll onto the 2nd display without having the main menu open or tabbed out of TF2, but it's just a very annoying issue. If it helps to figure out why this happens, I run TF2 in windowed noborder mode (-windowed -noborder launch options.}.

You prolly need to seperate the monitors so you can't just go over because like you have it your buttons pressed apply to both i guess

Is your secondary monitor set on the right side? Or if you are rocket jumping on the left side, is your monitor on the left side? TF2 isn't perfect at binding your mouse to the center of the screen, so it's possible when you swing your mouse you are clicking into the other monitor.
However, the chances of hitting the start button and not just clicking out of the game seems very slim.
Edit: This only applies if you have your taskbar on both monitors, since I assume TF2 always opens on the primary monitor.

If the issue ends up being you clicking outside of the TF2 window the solution is to halve (or whatever factor you want) your mouse DPI and double your ingame sens.
Here is another solution if you can't or don't want to mess with your mouse DPI:

are you hitting the windows key by accident when you hit shift?

The second display (My T.V.) is located above my monitor, so it's a possibility that I was swinging into it on accident. My windows key is always disabled, as it became an issue as well. And no, my taskbar doesn't extend into my second display, only the first. TF2 launches on the primary display, my actual monitor, and I put TF2 into fullscreen rather than windowed noborder and it seems to be fixed.
If the issue persists, I'll try Cursor Lock as suggested by Tooth, it looks like a solid program.

The issue is still there with fullscreen, except that instead of start menu, my whole game is tabbed out. I'm going to go ahead and try Cursor Lock and see if it helps.
