You're not going to find a 1TB SSD for cheap. Maybe a 125 GB, but not a whole terabyte.
I'f you're willing to drop half a grand (like I did) you can get a 1TB Samsung 840 EVO.
There's also 250GB variant for $150.

SSD's have the same power cables and SATA cables as normal hard drives. As long as you aren't using some ancient format they will work fine.
If you want to migrate your entire OS to a new hard drive, that usually won't work. There might be some software that would be able to transfer over your OS, but usually it's easier to do a fresh install. If you're on Windows and using the same install disk as on your old hard drive, then you'll have to call up India and let them know that you're reformatting and they should refresh your Windows key so you can install on the new drive.

Let me clarify I already have a 1TB HDD(I got it last year). I am looking to find a low priced (storage wise too or at least enough to hold windows and tf2) ssd.

Its definitely easier to just do a fresh install like not_matlock mentioned.
I've transferred my OS over to two different SSD's and I didn't need to call Microsoft Support for a reset. Only time I needed to call them was when I changed my motherboard.
