So I'm curious what people think of the variant of MGE. I haven't played on it personally but I do run an MGE server. My question I guess is is it a viable replacement? Or maybe should I rotate the maps between the two?

Besides not having all the maps people may want to play, but some of them are shit anyways so it's ok
I know my sole annoyance with that map is the mapname, as in hard to remember to be able to switch the map to it.
Edit: And I'm aware of post #5's suggestion, it is still tedious and easier to just type it

Assuming you have it downloaded, you can just type "changelevel mge" and it'll suggest it. Then go and add rcon to the front.

Actually I have a friend that hosts a (i belive) new york server that runs this map. Sometimes it's used for tf2center, but not very often.
