i dont know why, but my server list always get whiped at random times. please help
me too, I think it's just a known bug and we'll just have to deal with it :(
Had the same issue today, I've tried everything. Reinstalling TF2, going completely vanilla, changing the master files manually, turning my files to not read only.
There is no fix afaik, so fucking dumb.

someone told me a fix once and I never tried to see if it worked but
pull up all the other tabs and hit "stop refresh" and then try refreshing your favorites

been getting it for months now, it really sucks. looking for valve to fix this soon
so on etf2l alfie mentioned that this file saves the server list
(x86)Steamuserdata7remoteserverbrowser_hist.vdf"
ive changed the file into read mode only and will see if that works. perhaps u guys could try it out aswell?

just wanna give u guys an update. seems setting the remoteserverbrowser_hist.vdf into readmode only does work. my favourite list is still intact. normally my favourite list would get deleted every 2-3 days. Over 1 week passed since i edited the vdf file and my server list is there
are you all by any chance using 1024x768. My favorites would always wipe. When I swapped to 16:9(1920x1080) this problem seemed to stop
i only used 16:9 since i started playing tf2, never changed it. anyway changing the file works so hopefully it will work for other ppl who has the issue now
not really sure but i think your favorites list is stored on the cloud
so there might be some conflict with your client downloading a blank favorites list or something iunno

make ur favorites into aliases, kinda not the same but it gets the job done.

I actually prefer this, it saves you the time that you would take to sift through your favorites for a server name, and it's really useful to have for your team's server, pug servers, etc.

unlikely but once I left -autoconfig in launch options and forgot about it which would wipe my favourites on launch (I think)

I play tf2 on two separate computers and the favorites lists are different. I do have the cloud save off though. And my favorites rarely wipe, it only happens to me like once every three months
