its really cool that they are directly supporting 60 fps, i think b4 you could make a 30 fps video @ half the speed & double the speed through the youtube player to get allegedly 60fps but that was suppose to be glitchy.
will be so cool watching 1080p 60fps videos on youtube rather than downloading them for double the fps

it's rolled out now, chrome support only. will probably test it with the tftv cast from the other day (that I had to locally record because of the music).

I think I said in the last thread about this but I'll say it again, the bitrate on youtube will still be massively lower on videos than a download you'd be given with the video. Don't get me wrong for most things it'll be great, but the downloads will still be the better option quality-wise.

Its not the bitrate. Their official recommendations for 1080p videos with High quality is around 50Mbps bitrate. I have been testing it for months and it still distorts and lowers video quality even at the highest bitrate they recommend for each resolution.
Its their encoder which is shit, I can compare any local file I have with the videos I uploaded on youtube and I can see an immediate difference both in quality and smoothness of the video.
Its great that they're adding 60fps support, but I wish they would give more attention to their shitty encoder.

Moritztoo bad my pc can barely handle 1080p videos ;/
as of now, it seems the framerate is locked on YouTube for videos with 60fps
I'm sure they'll have a setting for enabling 30fps only, and if they don't, there'll probably be a plugin for your browser for it.
