Ever since I added the launch option -dxlevel 81 to my tf2 settings, alt tabbing has been really glitchy and takes a while to get back into the game due to a black screen appearing once I retab back into tf2. In addition, my tf2 now randomly crashes on servers with the competitive config enabled once I alt tab. I would remove it after the first launch, but my dxlevel in game keeps reseting back to 9 if I don't have -dxlevel 81 in my launch options.

did you check your autoexec to see if you had mat_dxlevel 91 in it?

It's disabled and has been since before I added the settings.

I use Comanglia's fps config if anyone is wondering.

Yes just did that, but the alt tab issue has not been fixed.

Get rid of it, you just need to launch the game once with do level 81, then quit and remove it to solve the alt-tabbing issues

That's the problem. It doesn't keep the dxlevel change once I remove it after the first launch. The hardware direct x level always reverts to 9.0 once I remove the dxlevel 81.
