What do you guys think of Toxikk? http://store.steampowered.com/app/324810/ "frag like it's 1999"
eh reflex is a better project
dont give your money to these people

So, let's see:
Horrible, jerky, scripted movement system. Not going back to the roots at all there.
Vehicles. Ew. No, get out.
Costs twice as much as reflex, and infinitely more than the free, already released QL.
Absurdly graphics-intensive from looks.
Yeah, giant waste of time. Either play reflex, QL, or CPMA.

I've been having a lot more fun with it than I've had with Reflex. The movement scheme isn't horrible or jerky, it's just Unreal Tournament with double jump. I haven't touched the game mode that includes vehicles because I'm not into that either.
I have my own personal issues with the game (mainly weapon balance), but if you're comparing current state Toxikk to current state Reflex that's not even a competition. Toxikk runs better than Reflex, the current netcode and hit registration are MILES better than Reflex's current, and the game (while not very original) still has more things that make the game unique than Reflex does.
Don't shit all over a game you haven't touched lol
Anyways, I played it for 2 hours last night and I can give a more detailed review of the game if anyone cares enough. A short answer would be that it has a 4v4 TDM mode that plays out pretty much exactly like the first Unreal Tournament. It's a super basic run and gun, if there's going to be any complexity to the game it's going to be use of weapons because there isn't really any advanced movement. At current state, rockets shit on everyone in every situation though.

I dislike the UT movement system because there is far less room for optimization and it doesn't combine well with the other forms of movement, like rocket jumping.

I am comparing the probable finished products.

Is this comparing reflex patch 30.3? Because that has really good netcode, even for high pings.

I would pay quite a bit of money for CPMA with more players and matchmaking, and zero for anything with the UT movement system.

It's fine to prefer Quake to Unreal Tournament. I don't think it's really fair to be like "haha this game isn't like Quake so it's garbage" when there was never a comparison made by the devs or anyone else to Quake in the first place.
Also the new Reflex patch is still very poor for high pings, but I'm not sure what you consider high ping. I get ~90 and using any gun is a nightmare.

Aside from what vortex said about weapon balance the only thing I don't like about it is the mouse input, although that's been a problem with unreal engine games for a long time. If the devs can fix those 2 issues I can see myself spending a lot more time in that than I will reflex.
