I'm getting into 6v6 and I want to play pocket mostly? Can anyone hook me up with some good guides? Thanks.
I'm a scout person but I think this might help. As a pocket, your rollout should be rather easy. It's usually a escape plan rollout to mid. In higher level play, I see the roamer do escape plan rollouts but you shouldn't worry about that for now. In the midfight, you should rj to height advantage after seeing the roles of pockets in maps such as cp_granary, cp_badlands, and cp_snakewater. After the midfight, you should just stay with your medic and protect him from everything. Usually, your team should help you with this(scouts fighting off other scouts, etc.). In newbie mixes, I've been informed that the combo should go in first, then the scouts, so you should do some damage to the enemies so then your scouts could go in and meatshot everyone. I'm most likely missing stuff and I could even be wrong in some fields so if a person with better gamesense can, correct me since my gamesense as a pocket is horrid.
Hmmm, let's think of how i play pocket:
1) Keep your medic alive
2) some maps, it's ridiculously difficult to keep your medic alive, such as granary, even though you should still protect them, don't feel bad if they die a lot on that midfight.
3) In midfights, stay close, but keep the height advantage, such as on granary mid, rolling out left, you should jump on your closest crate and just stay there until their roamer and scouts are dead, then you can drop down and protect your med dumping on the pocket soldier, and demo
4) Everyone should be working of demo's damage, mainly scouts, but sometimes when you're there, and there's no scouts, you can easily knock enemies down.
5) have decent shotgun aim, and be warmed up when you play, cuz your shotty is very dependent on how comfortable you are.
6) On last fights, especially gullywash, you want to bomb in, but stay close to your medic, as you will most likely take on the uber at lower level playing, so you're invincible and bombing.
7) You can go for airshots, just make sure you have a back up plan for when you don't hit them, it's much more safer to go for a suspend in the air with your shotgun (hitting them w/ more than 30 dmg shot w/ the shotty) or just waiting til they land, cuz they can only land in one place.
That's about all i remember atm, hope it helps

Talk to your medic, make sure he knows what you are doing and you know where he is.
Don't feel that the pocket doesn't have to be good at rocket jumping, it's very important to be able to push up fast after team fights, or to retreat fast as need may be.
If you see your flank is open, get a teammate on that. You should be pushing along the "main" lines most of the time (at least at lower levels of play)
As a pocket, with your high health pool you have potential to do a ton of damage; make sure your scouts/roamer know who you've lit up so they can finish targets off.
As mentioned above, warming up before games is important. I usually do a quick run through a jump map, a couple minutes of a tr_ map (either flinger or rocketshooting), then some pregame SOAPDM. Whatever works for you, though.
